Robert Janz
Robert Janz (Belfast December 25, 1932 - New York City October 26, 2021), was a New York-based visual artist whose work often dealt with ephemeral phenomena. His work has been described as having a "nomadic aspect", exploring "change and transience" and the temporary quality of life. Early life and education Janz was born to American parents in Belfast, Northern Ireland in 1932. Because his father worked in the diplomatic corps he traveled with his parents and sister to many locations around the world including Brazil, the Canary Islands, Panama and Israel. He began his studies at age 16 in literature at the University of Chicago, and was later educated at the Maryland Institute College of Art, where he graduated with a MFA degree. Janz taught in London, Berlin and Spain. An early mentor was the kinetic sculptor George Rickey, who employed him as an assistant. Karin Büttner-Janz
Karin Büttner-Janz ( Janz, born 17 February 1952) is a German medical doctor who won world and Olympic gold medals in artistic gymnastics for East Germany. From 1990 to 2012, she was chief physician of clinics in Berlin, Germany. She has a foundation named Spinefoundation. Gymnastics career Her first coach was her father Guido Janz, who taught her excellent basics. Büttner-Janz moved to a sports school in Forst, where she trained under Klaus Helbeck. Her final coach was Jürgen Heritz. In 1967, at the age of 15, Büttner-Janz was nominated as East German Athlete of the Year after a silver medal on the uneven bars and a bronze medal on the vault at the European championship in Amsterdam. She went on to win the silver medal on the uneven bars and a bronze medal as part of the country's gymnastics team at the 1968 Summer Olympics. Janz is a line of premium (costing up to 25,000 Euros), low volume (less than one hundred per year) revolvers manufactured by Janz-Präzisionstechnik GmbH, of Bad Malente, Holstein, Germany. History Janz-Präzisionstechnik GmbH originally produced a number of parts for the company Korth-Ratzeburg. Paul Janz (born 1951) is a Canadian theologian who was formerly a prominent singer-songwriter of pop rock music in the mainstream and contemporary Christian markets. He is known for such hits as "Every Little Tear", "One Night", "All I Have", "One Last Lie", "Believe In Me", "Go to Pieces", "Rocket to My Heart", "Close My Eyes", "Stand", "Prince Of Pain King Of Fools" and "I Won't Cry".
