Janybek Bakiyev
Janysh Bakiyev (Kyrgyz: Жаныш Салиевич Бакиев, ''Zhanysh Saliyevich Baqiyev''; born on March 16, 1958 in the Suzak District) is the former chief of the State Security Service of Kyrgyzstan and brother of former president Kurmanbek Bakiyev. In September 2006, Janybek resigned from his senior intelligence after being implicated in planting heroin in the luggage of the main opposition leader, Omurbek Tekebayev, who was later detained in Poland. In the summer of 2008 his son Asylbek Saliev successfully sued two independent newspapers 'De Facto' and 'Alibi' for libel after they published an article alleging he was involved in a traffic accident that resulted in the death of a pedestrian. Saliev was awarded one million soms (approximately US$35,000) from each in compensation. Kyrgyz Language
Kyrgyz (; autonym: , tr. ''Kyrgyz tili'', ) is a Turkic language of the Kipchak branch spoken in Central Asia. Kyrgyz is the official language of Kyrgyzstan and a significant minority language in the Kizilsu Kyrgyz Autonomous Prefecture in Xinjiang, China and in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region of Tajikistan. Kurmanbek Bakiyev
Kurmanbek Saliyevich Bakiyev (, ''Kurmanbek Saliyevich (Sali Uulu) Bakiyev''; born 1 August 1949) is a Kyrgyz politician who served as the second President of Kyrgyzstan, from 2005 to 2010. Large opposition protests in April 2010 led to the takeover of government offices, forcing Bakiyev to flee the country. Bakiyev was the leader of the People's Movement of Kyrgyzstan before his ascendance to the presidency. He received most of his popular support from the south of the country. 2010 Kyrgyzstani Uprising
The Kyrgyz Revolution of 2010, also known as the Second Kyrgyz Revolution, the Melon Revolution, the April Events ( ''Aprel okuyasy'') or officially as the People's April Revolution, began in April 2010 with the ousting of Kyrgyz president Kurmanbek Bakiyev in the capital Bishkek. Medet Sadyrkulov (Kyrgyz: Медет Садыркулов, Medet Sadırqulov; December 13, 1953–March 13, 2009) was a Kyrgyz politician and former chief of staff for presidents Askar Akayev and Kurmanbek Bakiyev. He was also Kyrgyzstan's ambassador to Iran from 2000 to 2005. In January 2009 he stepped down from his post with the Bakiyev administration, refusing an offer to become Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan, and became active in opposition politics. Sadyrkulov was killed along with his driver and one other companion at about 5 a.m. on March 13, 2009 in what the government claimed was an accidental car crash.
