Janusz Zalewski
Janusz Rajmund Zalewski (15 August 1903 – 6 August 1944) was a Polish sailor. He competed in the mixed 6 metres at the 1936 Summer Olympics. Zalewski was wounded during the Warsaw Uprising and was killed in reprisals for the rebellion. Personal life Zalewski served in the Warsaw Uprising as part of the Home Army during the Second World War. He was wounded on 1 August attacking German supply warehouses, and was sent to recover at a hospital in Wola. Zawiercie
Zawiercie is a city in the south of Poland located in the Silesian Voivodeship with 49,334 inhabitants (2019). It is situated in the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland near the source of the Warta River. The town lies near the historical region of Silesia, but belongs to Lesser Poland. Name and location Zawiercie, even though currently associated with Silesia, belongs to Lesser Poland. The city lies near the source of the Warta river, and its name probably comes from the location. The inhabitants of the ancient village of Kromołów, to reach another village located on the other side of the river, would go ''behind the Warta'', or in Polish - ''za Wartę''. Wola
Wola (, ) is a district in western Warsaw, Poland, formerly the village of Wielka Wola, incorporated into Warsaw in 1916. An industrial area with traditions reaching back to the early 19th century, it underwent a transformation into an office (commercial) and residential district. Several museums are located in Wola, notably the Warsaw Uprising Museum. History First mentioned in the 14th century, it became the site of the elections, from 1573 to 1764, of Polish kings by the szlachta (nobility) of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth.
