The January 2018 American West floods occurred due to heavy precipitation in Western United States, the Western United States. While December 2017 Southern California wildfires, wildfires in Southern California December_2017_Southern_California_wildfires#Mudslides, exacerbated the 2018 Southern California landslides, rain's effects there, other states, like Nevada, also experienced flooding. Effects Gusts as high as , hurricane-force, were reported, and scattered power outages were expected. The storm brought much-needed rain to places in the desert like Las Vegas, Nevada, Las Vegas and Phoenix, Arizona, Phoenix—with the risk of flash floods. Mammoth Mountain
Mammoth Mountain is a lava dome complex partially located within the town of Mammoth Lakes, California, in the Inyo National Forest of Madera and Mono Counties. It is home to a large ski area primarily on the Mono County side. Mammoth Mountain was formed in a series of eruptions that ended 57,000 years ago.
