Janine Hosking
Janine Hosking is an Australian documentary film maker. She won a Walkley Award in 1997 for a Seven Network television report titled ''Tjandamurra'', the story of Tjandamurra O'Shane. Hosking has made several other well received documentaries including: *''My Khmer Heart''. Walkley Award
The annual Walkley Awards are presented in Australia to recognise and reward excellence in journalism. They cover all media including print, television, documentary, radio, photographic and online media. The Gold Walkley is the highest prize and is chosen from all category winners. The awards are under the administration of the Walkley Foundation for Journalism. The Nikon Photography Prizes are also awarded by the Walkley Foundation at the awards ceremony, on behalf of Nikon. History The awards were instituted in five categories in 1956 by businessman Sir William Walkley, founder of Ampol. After his death, the awards were handled by the Australian Journalists' Association which, in 1992, was merged into the Media, Entertainment & Arts Alliance. Ganja Queen
''Ganja Queen'' is an Australian documentary film about the arrest, trial, and imprisonment of Schapelle Corby released in 2007. An expanded version titled ''Schapelle Corby: The Hidden Truth'', was aired by the Nine Network in Australia in June 2008. Chad Morgan
Chadwick William "Chad" Morgan OAM (born 11 February 1933) is an Australian country music singer and guitarist known for his vaudeville style of comic country and western songs, his prominent teeth and goofy stage persona. In reference to his first recording, he is known as " The Sheik of Scrubby Creek". Biography Morgan was born in Wondai, Queensland, the eldest of 14 children to Dave and Ivy Morgan. From an early age he was raised by his grandparents, Bill and Eva Hopkins. After his grandfather died in 1945, he and his grandmother moved back to Scrubby Creek to live with his parents and siblings. Morgan left school at age 12 and found work cutting timber. Schapelle Corby
Schapelle Leigh Corby (born 10 July 1977) is an Australian woman who was convicted of drug smuggling, smuggling cannabis into Indonesia. She spent nine years imprisoned on the Indonesian island of Bali in Kerobokan Prison. Since her arrest Corby has publicly maintained that the drugs were planted in her bodyboard bag and that she did not know about them. Her trial and conviction were a major focus of attention for the Australian media. Corby was convicted on 27 May 2005 for the importation of of Cannabis (drug), cannabis into Bali. She was sentenced to 20 years by the Denpasar Court system of Indonesia#Public Courts, District Court and imprisoned in Kerobokan Prison. On appeal her conviction and sentence were confirmed with finality by the Indonesian Supreme Court.
