Janice Kluge
Janice Kluge is an American artist who specializes in large and small scale sculpture. She holds a BFA with honors from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and an MFA for the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Kluge is Professor Emeritus of sculpture and drawing at the University of Alabama at Birmingham where she has taught since 1982. After serving three years as Interim Chair for the art and art history department she returned to full-time art making and teaching. Kluge is married to Cam Langley, a glass artist who specializes in fine art pieces. Initially trained as a metalsmith, Kluge has continued to enlarge the scale and complexity of her work refocusing her genre to include more ephemeral, technological and conceptual installations. Along with this new format Kluge is now encompassing sound and digital video along with other sensory elements. Kluge has exhibited and lectured extensively. Lee Isaacs is an American photographer, living and working in Birmingham, Alabama. Isaacs studied pinhole photography with Pinky Bass. He has worked both with commercial and art photography. He works with photography seminars and teaches classes and workshops across the US. He has involved himself with many different aspects of photography and photography over the last twenty years. Mary Frank (née Mary Lockspeiser; born 4 February 1933) is an English visual artist who works as a sculptor, painter, printmaker, draftswoman, and illustrator. Biography Frank was born in London, the only child of Eleanore Lockspeiser (1909–1986), an American painter, and Edward Lockspeiser (1905–1973), English musicologist and art critic. In 1939, at the beginning of World War II, she left London for a series of boarding schools and then was sent in 1940 to live with her maternal grandparents, Gregory and Eugenie Weinstein in Brooklyn, New York. Maddy Rosenberg is an American artist from Brooklyn, New York. She received a BFA from Cornell University and her MFA from Bard College. Rosenberg is both an artist and a curator. Her art practice extends over a number of media, including oil painting, artist's books, printmaking, drawing, toy theater and installation and has been said to be influenced by American painter Gillian Pederson-Krag. Mona Hatoum ( ar, منى حاطوم; born 1952) is a British-Palestinian multimedia and installation artist who lives in London. Biography Mona Hatoum was born in 1952 in Beirut, Lebanon, to Palestinian parents. Although born in Lebanon, Hatoum was ineligible for a Lebanese identity card and does not identify as Lebanese. As she grew up, her family did not support her desire to pursue art. She continued to draw throughout her childhood, though, illustrating her work from poetry and science classes.
