Janice Crosio
Janice Ann Crosio (; born 3 January 1939) is an Australian politician from the Labor Party. She was a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly, and became the first woman Cabinet minister in New South Wales. Later she was a member of the Australian House of Representatives, and a Parliamentary Secretary. Early life Crosio was born in the Sydney suburb of Granville and educated at Strathfield Girls High School. In 1957, she married Ivo Crosio and they have one son and twin daughters. She was an alderman of Fairfield City Council in suburban Sydney from 1971 to 1980 and Mayor from 1974 to 1975 and 1977 to 1980. State politics Crosio was the first woman elected to the New South Wales Legislative Assembly in thirty years, representing Fairfield from 1981 to 1988 and Smithfield from 1988 to 1990. John Akister
John Edward Akister (born 6 November 1937) is a former Australian politician. He was the Labor Party member for Electoral district of Monaro in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly from 1976 to 1988, and served as a minister from 1984 to 1988. Akister was born in Brighton in England, and was educated at Staveley Public School and Windermere Grammar School in Westmorland, and Salford Technical College. Trained as an electrical fitter and electrical draughtsman, he worked for the Metropolitan-Vickers company from 1954 to 1959, when he began national service as a private in the 1st Battalion of the Lancashire Regiment. Terence William "Terry" Sheahan, AO (born 18 August 1947) is an Australian judge and former politician. He was the Labor member for Burrinjuck in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly from 1973 to 1988, and held various ministerial portfolios (including Attorney General of New South Wales) between 1980 and 1988. On 9 April 1997 he was appointed to a judge on the New South Wales Land and Environment Court, and in 2019 retired from this role. Ian Raymond Causley (19 October 1940 – 27 April 2020) was an Australian politician. He was a National Party of Australia, Nationals member of the Australian House of Representatives, representing the Division of Page, New South Wales from 1996 to 2007. Paul Francis Patrick Whelan (12 December 1943 – 30 October 2019) was an Australian politician, who served as the New South Wales Minister for Police between 1995 and 2001. Early years and background Whelan was born and raised in Ashbury, a suburb of Sydney, Australia to Mary Bridget and John Joseph Whelan. He was the youngest of their seven children. David Aberdeen Hay, (born 26 October 1933) is a former Australian politician. He was the Liberal member for Manly in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly from 1984 to 1991, and state Minister for Local Government and Minister for Planning from 1988 to 1991. Hay was born in Manly and was educated at Manly Boys' High School. He served in the military as a RAAF pilot, and worked as a company director. He was an Alderman of Manly Municipal Council for twenty-three years, including six terms as Mayor and eight as Deputy Mayor, and was also a Mackellar County Councillor for six years, including one year as chairman.
