Janet McIntyre
Janet McIntyre is a New Zealand television journalist, reporter and producer. She worked as a news reporter in Australia on Channel 9 News, along with 60 Minutes in New Zealand. She currently works as a reporter for New Zealand current affairs show Sunday. Career Janet previously worked in Australia, starting her career as a reporter for Australia's Channel 9. In 1989 she moved to NZ for the launch of TV3, where she worked with 60 Minutes as a reporter. Janet has been nominated and won several awards for her work in New Zealand television. Personal life Janet's partner Derek McKendry who was a veteran cameraman died suddenly in 1999 after an apparent heart attack. Derek covered camera work on the Vietnam War. Janet was married to New Zealand journalist Keith Slater from 2005 until his death in 2017. ''60 Minutes'' is the name of a television newsmagazine show previously broadcast in New Zealand on TV3. The show began in New Zealand in 1989 based on an American programme by the same name. The broadcaster of ''60 Minutes'' changed twice during the 1990s. It was one of TV3's flagship programmes when TV3 went to air in 1989, then in 1992 TVNZ won the rights to the programme. After being shown on TV1 from 1993 to 2002, TVNZ decided not to renew the rights the show from CBS, and the rights were reacquired by TV3. Following this, there was a fight over the www.60minutes.co.nz domain, which for a short time, redirected to the site on TVNZ's replacement ''Sunday''. 20/20 is a New Zealand documentary television programme hosted by Carolyn Robinson, and based on the American Broadcasting Company programme of the same name. Between 1993 and 2014, the show contained a mix of locally produced and American content. The show now presents stories largely produced by its American counterpart, with a local presenter providing context at the beginning. The show uses the same graphics and theme music as the American version. From 1993 until 2003, the show was broadcast on Three, and was hosted by Louise Wallace. ''Sunday'' is a current affairs programme broadcast on TVNZ 1 in New Zealand on Sunday nights at . Presented by Miriama Kamo with a team of New Zealand reporters, the programme began when TV ONE did not renew its rights to '' 60 Minutes'' which had aired previously in this time slot. The hour-long show usually features two reports from the local reporters and one report from an overseas current affairs programme. The programme's tagline is "Where there's a story we'll find it". Derek McKendry (1941–1999) was a New Zealand TV veteran television cameraman. He is known for spending 8 years covering coverage on the Vietnam War.
