Janet J. Joyce
Janet J. Joyce (née Meece) (January 19, 1940 – March 27, 2015) was an American farmer and politician. Born in Chenoa, Illinois, Joyce went to Reddick High School in Reddick, Illinois. She married Jerome J. Joyce and they lived on a farm in Reddick, Illinois. Jerome J. Joyce served in the Illinois Senate from 1975 until his resignation in April 1992. His wife Janet J. Joyce was appointed to the Illinois Senate and served until January 1993. She was a Democrat. Janet Joyce died at her home in Reddick, Illinois. Thomas A. Dunn succeeded her. Chenoa is a city in McLean County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,695 at the 2020 census. The city is located at the intersections of Interstate 55, Historic Route 66, and U.S. Route 24. Founded in 1854 by Mathew T. Scott, Chenoa was created to provide a retail and trade center for his farm tenants as well as a grain shipping facility. The Chenoa Centennial was celebrated in 1954. The town is situated in a highly productive agricultural area. The town school system closed at the end of the 2004 school year, consolidating with the nearby Prairie Central school district. Reddick is a village in Kankakee County, Illinois, United States. A small portion of the village extends into Livingston County. The population was 163 at the 2010 census, down from 219 at the 2000 census. The Kankakee County portion of Reddick is included in the Kankakee-Bradley, Illinois Metropolitan Statistical Area, while the small Livingston County portion is part of the Pontiac Micropolitan Statistical Area. As of 1988, children living in the village and surrounding area attend schools in Herscher School District #2.
