Janet Godfrey
Janet Godfrey is a British songwriter, known for being the first wife and occasional writing partner of bassist Jack Bruce. Early career Godfrey was the secretary of the fan club for the Graham Bond Organisation, a band that had started in 1963, with Ginger Baker on drums. Jack Bruce was the bassist in the band, and Godfrey teamed with Bruce to write "Baby Make Love To Me" and "Baby Be Good To Me". Godfrey and Bruce were engaged to be married when Marvin Gaye asked Bruce to join him in the US. Bruce declined because of his upcoming marriage. Following this, Bruce and Baker fought on stage, and Bruce left the Bond group. He gigged with John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers for a bit and then joined Manfred Mann, a more successful group named after its organist. Bruce made this switch so that he could purchase a home for Godfrey and himself. The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. Gail Delta Collins Pappalardi (February 2, 1941 – December 6, 2013) was an American songwriter, producer, and artist. Biography She came to prominence (as 'Miss Gail Collins') co-producing, with Pappalardi, the self-titled debut album by Energy, a group featuring Corky Laing. She also co-produced, with Felix Pappalardi, the ''Felix Pappalardi and Creation'' album in 1976. Collins Pappalardi co-wrote Cream's "World of Pain" with her husband Felix Pappalardi and "Strange Brew" with Pappalardi and Eric Clapton. Both songs are included on the album ''Disraeli Gears''. Felix A. Pappalardi Jr. (December 30, 1939 – April 17, 1983) was an American music producer, songwriter, vocalist, and bassist. He is best known as the bassist and co-lead vocalist of the band Mountain, whose song "Mississippi Queen" peaked at number 21 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and has become a classic rock radio staple. Originating in the eclectic music scene in New York's Greenwich Village, he became closely attached to the British power trio Cream, writing, arranging, and producing for their second album ''Disraeli Gears''. As a producer for Atlantic Records, he worked on several projects with guitarist Leslie West; in 1969 their partnership evolved into the band Mountain. Michael Ronald Taylor (1 June 1938, Ealing, West London – 19 January 1969) was a British jazz composer, pianist and co-songwriter for the band Cream. Biography Mike Taylor was brought up by his grandparents in London and Kent, and joined the RAF for his national service. Having rehearsed and written extensively throughout the early 1960s, he recorded two albums for the Lansdowne series produced by Denis Preston: ''Pendulum'' (1966) with drummer Jon Hiseman, bassist Tony Reeves and saxophonist Dave Tomlin and ''Trio'' (1967) with Hiseman and bassists Jack Bruce and Ron Rubin. Afro Celt Sound System
Afro Celt Sound System is a British musical group who fuse electronic music with traditional Gaelic and West African music. Afro Celt Sound System was formed in 1995 by producer-guitarist Simon Emmerson, and feature a wide range of guest artists. In 2003, they temporarily changed their name to Afrocelts before reverting to their original name. Their albums have been released through Peter Gabriel's Real World Records, and they have frequently performed at WOMAD festivals worldwide. Their sales on the label are exceeded only by Gabriel himself. Their recording contract with Real World was for five albums, of which ''Volume 5: Anatomic'' was the last. Within five months of these performances, this collection of recordings was released as separate double Compact Disc and double DVD sets. Two months later in December, a triple LP set was also released, containing tracks identical to the CD set. A Blu-ray version also exists. Jack Bruce
John Symon Asher Bruce (14 May 1943 – 25 October 2014) was a Scottish bassist, singer-songwriter, musician and composer. He gained popularity as the primary lead vocalist and bassist of British rock band Cream. After the group disbanded in 1968, he pursued a solo career and also played with several bands. In the early 1960s Bruce joined the Graham Bond Organisation (GBO), where he met his future bandmate Ginger Baker. The album was released in the United Kingdom, UK on 9 December 1966, as the first LP on the Reaction Records label, owned by producer Robert Stigwood.
