Janet Duprey
Janet L. Duprey (born November 27, 1945) is a former Republican member of the New York State Assembly, representing Assembly District 115, which includes all of Clinton and Franklin Counties, as well as part of St. Lawrence County. She is originally from Plattsburgh. Duprey was first elected to the Assembly on November 7, 2006. She ran uncontested in the November 2008 general election She won the 2010 Republican primary election running against David Kimmel, a small business owner. She then faced Rudy Johnson, a former energy analyst and small businessman, in the general election, which she won with 59 percent of the vote. Duprey did not seek re-election in 2016. Positions Duprey supports gay and lesbian rights and voted in favor of a bill to introduce same sex marriage in New York State. Claudia Tenney
Claudia L. Tenney (born February 4, 1961) is an American attorney and politician serving as the U.S. representative for New York's 22nd congressional district since 2021, having previously represented the district from 2017 to 2019. Her district covers a large part of Central New York, extending from the east end of Lake Ontario to the Pennsylvania border and includes the cities of Utica, Rome and Binghamton. A member of the Republican Party, Tenney served in the New York State Assembly from 2011 to 2017. In 2014, she challenged incumbent U.S. Representative Richard L. Hanna in the Republican primary and lost. Tenney was elected to Congress in 2016 after Hanna retired. She narrowly lost reelection to Democrat Anthony Brindisi in 2018. Plattsburgh ( moh, Tsi ietsénhtha) is a city in, and the seat of, Clinton County, New York, United States, situated on the north-western shore of Lake Champlain. The population was 19,841 at the 2020 census. The population of the surrounding (and separately incorporated) Town of Plattsburgh was 11,886 as of the 2020 census, making the combined population for all of greater Plattsburgh to be 31,727. Dierdre Kathryn "Dede" Scozzafava ( ; born April 28, 1960) is an American politician in New York. She represented District 122 in the New York State Assembly from 1999 to 2010. Scozzafava held office as a member of the Republican Party, but later became a member of the Democratic Party. Scozzafava was the Republican nominee for the U.S. House of Representatives in in a 2009 special election. She faced opposition from some Republican and conservative figures who deemed her too liberal to receive their support.
