Janele Hyer-Spencer
Donna Janele Hyer-Spencer (born October 24, 1964) is an American attorney and former politician. Hyer-Spencer represented New York's 60th Assembly District, which covers parts of Staten Island and Brooklyn, from 2007 to 2010. She is a Democrat. Early life and education Hyer-Spencer attended high school in Lake Zurich, Illinois, where she ran track and cross country and played golf. Hyer-Spencer earned a bachelor's degree from Columbia College Chicago. She played basketball in college. She graduated from CUNY School of Law with a J.D. and also graduated from Queens College with a Master of Arts degree in Public Policy. Career Hyer-Spencer became a litigation attorney for the New York City Administration for Children's Services, specializing in child abuse and neglect. Matthew Mirones
Matthew Mirones (born April 24, 1956) is a former Republican politician from New York City who represented parts of Brooklyn and Staten Island in the New York State Assembly. Education and background Mirones is the son of immigrants from the island of Chios in Greece. His father was a shoemaker. Mirones is Greek-American and lived in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn before relocating to the Grasmere section of Staten Island, both of which were located within his Assembly district. Mirones received a B.S. in Prosthetics and Orthotics from New York University Medical School. Political career Mirones was elected in a special election on February 12, 2002, to fill the seat that was vacated by Democrat Eric Nicholas Vitaliano, who went on to become a civil court judge. Sheldon Silver
Sheldon Silver (February 13, 1944 – January 24, 2022) was an American Democratic Party politician, attorney, and convicted felon from New York City who served as speaker of the New York State Assembly from 1994 to 2015. A native of Manhattan's Lower East Side, Silver served in the New York State Assembly from 1977 to 2015. In 1994, he was selected as the Speaker of the Assembly; he held that position for two decades. During this period, Silver was known as one of the most powerful politicians in the state. Silver was arrested on federal corruption charges in early 2015, and resigned as Speaker of the Assembly shortly afterward. At his trial that November, he was convicted of all charges; the felony convictions triggered his automatic expulsion from the Assembly. Star Motorcycles was a U.S.-specific brand of Yamaha Motor Company used on Yamaha's cruiser motorcycles. History In 1994 Yamaha announced the creation of Star Motorcycles, a new standalone brand name for its cruiser series of motorcycles in the American market.
