Jane Cibber ( Johnson; 1704/1706 — 1733) was a British stage actress.''The Routledge Anthology of Restoration and Eighteenth-Century Drama'', pg. XIII Life She was born in 1704 or 1706 as Jane Johnson. Her guardian was the writer Richard Savage. Originally appearing at Drury Lane Theatre as Jane Johnson, in 1725 she married Theophilus Cibber the son of actor-manager Colley Cibber.Koon p. 109 She had four children with him while continuing to act on the stage in a mixture of comedies and tragedies. When Elizabeth Younger defected to work for the Lincoln's Inn Fields Theatre company, she took over the roles she had been playing. In 1731, she played the title role in ''Caelia'' by Charles Johnson. She died after childbirth in 1733. Her husband said he would never remarry. He did in 1734. Jane Johnson (c. 1814-1827 – August 2, 1872)[Flynn, Katherine E. "Jane Johnson Found! But Is She 'Hannah Crafts'? The Search for the Author of The Bondswoman's Narrative"], ''National Genealogical Society Quarterly,'' September 2002 was an African-American Slavery, slave who gained freedom on July 18, 1855, with her two young sons while in Philadelphia with her master and his family. She was aided by William Still and Passmore Williamson, abolitionists of the Pennsylvania Anti-Slavery Society and its Vigilance Committee. This resulted in precedent-setting legal cases in 19th-century Pennsylvania, as a federal judge applied the Fugitive Slave Act of 1850 in a controversial way. He sentenced abolitionist Passmore Williamson to 90 days for contempt of court for failing to produce Johnson and her sons under a writ of ''habeas corpus'', or tell their location. Jane Johnson (born 1960) is an English writer of books for adults and children and fiction book editor. As a writer she has used the pseudonyms Gabriel King, jointly with M. John Harrison, and Jude Fisher, as well as her real name. Biography Jane Johnson was educated at Liskeard Grammar School. She has a first class honours English degree, a teaching degree and a master's degree in Old Icelandic language and literature. From 1984 to 1992, she was the editor responsible for the J.R.R. Tolkien list at George Allen & Unwin Publishers and commissioned both John Howe and Alan Lee to illustrate Tolkien's work, including Lee's acclaimed illustrated Tolkien-centenary edition of ''The Lord of the Rings''. The publishing house was later bought by HarperCollins, where she remains a Publishing Director working remotely across the Voyager fantasy and science fiction list and crime/thrillers. Jane Clayson Johnson
Jane Clayson Johnson (born April 25, 1967) is an American journalist and author. Early life and career Clayson was born in Sacramento, California, and spent most of her childhood there. She played with the Sacramento Youth Symphony and is an accomplished violinist. She graduated from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, in 1990 with a degree in journalism. Clayson began her career at KSL-TV in Salt Lake City, Utah (1990–96). While at KSL, she traveled to China to write and produce a series of stories about American doctors assisting Chinese children with disabilities. Her work there earned a regional Emmy. She also received the Radio and Television News Directors of America's Edward R. Murrow Award while at KSL.
