Jane Crafter
Jane Crafter (born 14 December 1955) is an Australian-American professional golfer and golf broadcaster for ESPN who played on the LPGA Tour. She has had dual citizenship in Australia and the United States since 2007. Her father Brian was also a professional golfer, while her brother Neil was a leading amateur golfer, representing Australia in the 1984 Eisenhower Trophy. Before playing professional golf, Crafter worked as a pharmacist for three years. Crafter won once on the LPGA Tour in 1990. She won three times on the ALPG Tour. The RACV Gold Coast Challenge was a golf tournament played in Australia. It was one of the leading tournaments on the ALPG Tour and was co-sanctioned by the Ladies European Tour (LET) since 2001. Between 1997 and 2000 it was an event on the LPGA Tour. It has been played at the RACV Royal Pines Resort in Benowa, Queensland, a suburb of Gold Coast since 1992. The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) is an American organization for female golfers. The organization is headquartered at the LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Florida, and is best known for running the LPGA Tour, a series of weekly golf tournaments for elite female professional golfers from around the world. Tasman Cup
The Tasman Cup was an amateur women's team golf tournament, played between Australia and New Zealand from 1933 to 2016. From 2007 to 2012 it was played as part of the Trans Tasman Cup. In 2016 the trophy was contested using scores from the two qualifying rounds of the Australian Women's Amateur. History The first contest was held at Victoria Golf Club in Melbourne in 1933. It was played on 1 September, after the qualifying rounds of the Australian Women's Amateur but before the start of the match-play stage. Four singles were played in the morning and two foursomes in the afternoon. Australia won 3 of the 4 singles matches but after lunch three of the five Australian players were unable to play in the foursomes because of illness, and they had to concede the second foursomes match. Commonwealth Trophy
The Astor Trophy is a women's team golf tournament between teams of amateurs golfers from Great Britain and Ireland, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and South Africa. It has been played every four years since 1959. From its foundation until 2007 it was called the Commonwealth Trophy. South Africa did not compete from 1963 to 1991. While it was called the Commonwealth Trophy, Irish golfers were not eligible. The trophy was presented by Nancy Astor, Viscountess Astor. Format Each team plays the other four teams. She became a member of the LPGA Tour in 1977 and won six major championships and 34 LPGA Tour victories in all. The 2013 Legends Tour was a series of professional golf tour events for women aged 45 and older sanctioned by the Legends Tour. Based in the United States, it is an offshoot of the main U.S.-based women's tour, the LPGA Tour. The tour was founded in 2001, and is intended to allow women to prolong their competitive golf careers on the model of the successful Champions Tour for men.
