Jana McCall
Jana McCall is an art therapist and American singer-songwriter and visual artist from the Pacific Northwest. She played bass guitar in the short lived all-female band Dickless. After Dickless, she worked briefly with Mark Pickerel (formerly of Screaming Trees) and the band Ruby Doe. Her solo career spanned 1998 to 2002 during which she released two albums; the eponymous ''Jana McCall'' and ''Slumber''. She had three songs featured on Up Records Up Records was a Seattle based independent record label founded in 1994 by Chris Takino and Rich Jensen. Some of the label's best known artists were 764-Hero, Built to Spill, Modest Mouse, Quasi and Tad. Chris Takino died of leukemia in 2000 ... compilations. Echoes (Pink Floyd Song)
"Echoes" is a song by the rock band Pink Floyd, and the sixth and last track on their 1971 album ''Meddle''. It is 23 and a half minutes long and takes up the entire second side of the original LP. The track evolved from a variety of different musical themes and ideas, including instrumental passages and studio effects, resulting in the side-long piece. The music was written by the group, while Roger Waters' lyrics addressed themes of human communication and empathy, which he returned to in later work. The song was performed live regularly by Pink Floyd from 1971 to 1975, including a performance in the film ''Live at Pompeii'' (1972). It was used for the opening shows on the 1987 A Momentary Lapse of Reason Tour but subsequently dropped. Screaming Trees
Screaming Trees was an American rock band formed in Ellensburg, Washington, in 1984 by vocalist Mark Lanegan, guitarist Gary Lee Conner, bass player Van Conner, and drummer Mark Pickerel. Pickerel had been replaced by Barrett Martin by the time the band reached its most successful period. Although widely associated with grunge, the band's sound incorporated hard rock and psychedelic elements. The band released seven studio albums, five EPs, and three compilations. Screaming Trees is known as one of the pioneers of grunge along with the Melvins, Mudhoney, U-Men, Skin Yard, Soundgarden, Green River, and Malfunkshun. Screaming Trees rose to fame as part of the grunge movement of the early 1990s, along with bands such as Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, and Soundgarden and was one of the most successful underground music acts of the 1990s. Mark Pickerel
Mark Pickerel is an American musician best known as the original drummer for the alternative rock band Screaming Trees. He is also an active session musician and has released several solo albums as a singer/guitarist. Biography Originally from Ellensburg, Washington, Pickerel was a high school acquaintance of Van Conner and Gary Lee Conner, and the three formed the band Explosive Generation with Pickerel on drums and vocals. Several years after graduation, the trio formed Screaming Trees with singer Mark Lanegan in 1985 (by this time Pickerel no longer performed lead vocals). The band soon moved to Seattle to join that city's burgeoning grunge scene. During this period, Pickerel participated in recording sessions with several bands in the Seattle scene; some of these later appeared on Lanegan's solo album ''The Winding Sheet'' and on the Nirvana rarities compilation ''With the Lights Out''.
