Jana Kapustová
Jana Kapustová (born 11 August 1983 in Žilina, Czechoslovakia) is a Slovakian ice hockey forward and defender. International career Kapustová was selected for the Slovakia national women's ice hockey team in the 2010 Winter Olympics. She played in all five games, scoring one goal, and tying for the team lead with three points. She played in the qualifying campaigns for the 2010 and 2014 Olympics. Kapustová has also appeared for Slovakia at nine IIHF Women's World Championships, across three levels. Her first appearance came in 2003. Forward (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, a forward is a player, and a position on the ice, whose primary responsibility is to score and assist goals. Generally, the forwards try to stay in three different lanes of the ice going from goal to goal. It is not mandatory, however, to stay in a lane. Staying in a lane aids in forming the common offensive strategy known as a triangle. One forward obtains the puck and then the forwards pass it between themselves making the goalie move side to side. This strategy opens up the net for scoring opportunities. This strategy allows for a constant flow of the play, attempting to maintain the control of play by one team in the offensive zone. The forwards can pass to the defence players playing at the blue line, thus freeing up the play and allowing either a shot from the point (blue line position where the defence stands) or a pass back to the offence. 2004 IIHF Women's World Championship
The 2004 IIHF World Women's Championships were held March 30 – April 6, 2004 in Halifax Urban Area, Halifax and Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Dartmouth, Canada at the Scotiabank Centre, Halifax Metro Centre (now known as Scotiabank Centre), and the Dartmouth Sportsplex (now known as Zatzman Sportsplex). The Canada women's national ice hockey team, Canadian national women's hockey team won their eighth straight World Championships. The event had 9 teams, because the 2003 event was cancelled due to the SARS epidemic, therefore no teams were relegated and the winners of the 2002 and 2003 Division I tournaments qualified. The 2013 IIHF Women's World Championships was the 15th world championship sanctioned by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) and was the last world championship before the 2014 Winter Olympics.
