Jan Świtkowski
Jan Świtkowski (born 23 January 1994) is a Polish competitive Swimming (sport), swimmer who specializes in butterfly events. He is a multiple-time Polish champion and a bronze medalist in the 200-meter butterfly at the 2015 World Aquatics Championships, 2015 World Championships. While studying in the United States, Switkowski initially attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Virginia, where he swam for the Virginia Tech Hokies under head coach Ned Skinner from 2013 to 2014. Switkowski sat out the 2014–15 season to spend most of the year competing for the Polish national swimming team, before transferring to the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, where he competed for the Florida Gators swimming and diving team under head coach Gregg Troy. Butterfly Swimming
The butterfly (colloquially shortened to fly) is a swimming stroke swum on the chest, with both arms moving symmetrically, accompanied by the butterfly kick (also known as the "dolphin kick"). While other styles like the breaststroke, front crawl, or backstroke can be swum adequately by beginners, the butterfly is a more difficult stroke that requires good technique as well as strong muscles. It is the newest swimming style swum in competition, first swum in 1933 and originating out of the breaststroke. Speed and ergonomics The peak speed of the butterfly is faster than that of the front crawl due to the synchronous pull/push with both arms and legs, which is done quickly. Yet since speed drops significantly during the recovery phase, it is overall slightly slower than front crawl, especially over longer distances. Kacper Majchrzak (born 22 September 1992) is a Polish swimmer. He currently represents the Cali Condors which is part of the International Swimming League. Majchrzak competed in the 50 m freestyle and 4 × 100m medley relay events at the 2012 Summer Olympics. He finished 10th in the 200 metre freestyle at the 2016 Summer Olympics setting a new national record of 1:46.30.
