Jan Wolthuis
Jan Aksel Wolthuis (27 February 1903 – 16 March 1983), a lawyer by training, was a Dutch Nazi who collaborated with the German occupiers during World War II and after the war was active in far-right politics. Biography Until 1945 Born in Groningen, Wolthuis studied law at the University of Groningen. In 1933 he joined Anton Mussert's National Socialist Movement in the Netherlands, or NSB. In the years before 1940 he fulfilled a number of offices in the NSB at the local level, and during the war proved himself a fanatical Nazi, adhering to the ideology of Meinoud Rost van Tonningen. He received an appointment as "justice of the peace" in Arnhem, essentially a political office occupied by NSB members and intended to handle civil infractions involving NSB members. Nazism
Nazism ( ; german: Nazismus), the common name in English for National Socialism (german: Nationalsozialismus, ), is the far-right totalitarian political ideology and practices associated with Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party (NSDAP) in Nazi Germany. Paul Van Tienen
Paul van Tienen (10 January 1921 – 1995 probably in La Manga del Mar Menor, Murcia, Spain) was a Dutch Nazi during World War II and a far-right politician after the war, convicted at least twice for his political activities. Biography Until 1945 Born in Yogyakarta, Van Tienen joined the Waffen-SS during World War II and became an ''Untersturmführer''. He was active on the Eastern Front in a propaganda detachment. After the war After the war he continued his political activism and became involved with the European Social Movement of Per Engdahl, whom he cited as a political ally in 1953. Unlike many of his collaborationist colleagues he never lost his right to vote or his Dutch citizenship, since he was considered a minor when he joined the SS. Klaas Carel Faber
Klaas Carel Faber (20 January 1922 – 24 May 2012) was a convicted Dutch-German war criminal. He was the son of Pieter and Carolina Josephine Henriëtte (née Bakker) Faber, and the brother of Pieter Johan Faber, who was executed for war crimes in 1948. Faber was on the Simon Wiesenthal Center's list of most wanted Nazi war criminals. Faber died in Germany in May 2012, having never been extradited. Second World War Faber was born in Haarlem, The Netherlands, to a family with a strong National-Socialist background. Like his father and his brother, Faber was a member of the National Socialist Movement, or NSB, before the war, and joined the Waffen SS a month after the German occupation of the Netherlands in 1940. Breda () is a city and municipality in the southern part of the Netherlands, located in the province of North Brabant. Koepelgevangenis (Breda)
The Koepelgevangenis is a former prison in Breda, Netherlands, constructed in 1886, best known as the prison where convicted World War II collaborators and Nazi war criminals were housed. History The Koepelgevangenis was built from 1882 to 1886, having been designed by Johan Frederik Metzelaar, who also designed a similar prison at Arnhem. The prison was constructed as a panopticon, as invented in 1791 by Jeremy Bentham. This allowed the guards to continuously watch the prisoners from the centre of the building. The Koepelgevangenis complex was designated a national monument in 2001 and housed a women's prison until 2013. The women were transferred to the ''Ter Peel'' institution in Horst aan de Maas. In that year, it was announced that the entire prison would be closed due to budget cutbacks. The first department was closed in 2014, and the entire complex closed its doors at the start of 2016.
