Jan Thomas Njerve
Jan Thomas Njerve (7 June 1927 – 17 November 2014) was a Norwegian painter. He was born in Eidanger, and was married to opera singer Kari Frisell. He attended the Norwegian National Academy of Fine Arts from 1946 to 1948, and also trained abroad. He is known as a landscape painter, among others with the work ''Spansk landskap'' (1960) owned by the National Gallery of Norway, and as a portrait painter, among others of Olav V of Norway and Harald V of Norway Harald V ( no, Harald den femte, ; born 21 February 1937) is King of Norway. Kari Frisell
Kari Frisell (20 August 1922 – 3 June 2022) was a Norwegian operatic soprano and pedagogue. Musical career Frisell studied under in Oslo, and further in Vienna and New York. She made her concert debut in Oslo in 1946. In 1946 she also performed as Michaela in Georges Bizet, Bizet's opera ''Carmen'', staged in Bergen. She also starred in the 1946 film ''Vi vil leve''. She was assigned with the Norwegian National Opera and Ballet, Norwegian National Opera from its inaugural year in 1958 to 1971. As song pedagogue Frisell was assigned with the Oslo Conservatory of Music from 1970, and with the Norwegian Academy of Music from 1973 to 1988. She was awarded the Norwegian Music Critics Award for 1963/64. Personal life and death Frisell was born in Oslo on 20 August 1922. She was married to painter Jan Thomas Njerve. Eidanger
Eidanger is a rural parish and former municipality of Porsgrunn, in Telemark County, Norway. History Eidanger was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). It was merged with Porsgrunn on 1 January 1964. The main part of Eidanger is a peninsula between the Eidangerfjord and the Frierfjord. Situated between the urban communities of Brevik and Porsgrunn, and with excellent natural conditions for building harbours, it became the site of Norsk Hydro's plant at Herøya and the Dalen Portland (now part of the Norcem corporation) concrete factory just outside Brevik. Another major industry is Heistad Fabrikker, which makes products for diabetics. Isola maintains its head office and administration office in Eidanger.
