Jan Lööf
Jan Lööf (born 30 May 1940 in Trollhättan) is a Sweden, Swedish illustrator, author, comic creator, and jazz musician. Lööf studied at Konstfack in Stockholm in the early 1960s. From 1967 until 1973 he created his most famous comic strip Felix (comic book), ''Felix'', which soon gained popularity into many parts of the world. Mixing humor and adventure, ''Felix'' has sometimes been described as a more naivistic or Underground comix, underground style version of The Adventures of Tintin, ''Tintin'', in terms of the drawing style, but in its themes and morale it is also somewhat Left-wing politics, leftist. Later, Lööf created other comics, such as ''Bellmann (comic book), Bellman'' (a humor strip about a Stockholm hobo) and Ville (comic book), ''Ville'' (1975–76), a "comedic adventure" about an unemployed Stockholm author, teaming up with Olof Palme and Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden, Carl XVI Gustaf to fight the bad guys. Göteborg Book Fair
The Gothenburg Book Fair (also known as ''Göteborg Book Fair'', ''Bok & Bibliotek'', ''Bok- och biblioteksmässan'' or ''Bokmässan'') is an annual event held in Gothenburg, Sweden, since 1985. Overview It started primarily as a trade fair (for librarians and teachers), but is now the largest literary festival in Nordic countries, Scandinavia and the second largest book fair in Europe after the Frankfurt Book Fair. Urhunden Prizes
Urhunden Prizes have been given out each year by the Swedish Comics Association ('' Svenska Seriefrämjandet'') since 1987. There are three categories: Best Swedish (Domestic) Album of the Year (1987–2005), Best Foreign Album of the Year (1987–2005), and the "Unghunden" for best children and youth comics (1994–2005). The award is named after the Swedish cartoon strip "Urhunden" which was created by Oskar Emil "O.A." Andersson (1877–1906), who was one of the pioneers in Swedish comics. It featured a prehistoric man in modern surroundings. The title character was a mixture of a dog and a dinosaur, with erratic and often drastic behavior. Selma Lagerlöf Prize
The Selma Lagerlöf Prize is a Swedish literary prize awarded to an author writing in the spirit of Selma Lagerlöf who was the first woman to win the Nobel Prize in Literature. The prize was founded by the Sunne Municipality in 1983 and has been awarded annually since 1984. Recipients receive 100,000 Swedish kronor. The Astrid Lindgren-priset, or Astrid Lindgren Prize in English, is a Swedish literary award for children's literature named after the Swedish writer Astrid Lindgren.
