Jan Kirsznik
Jan Kirsznik (8 January 1934 – 1 August 2018) was a Polish rock and roll saxophonist and member of the Polish band Rhythm and Blues. After the end of military service, in the second half of the 1950s, he became a musician of the Polish Navy Band. In 1958, he and Franciszek Walicki co-founded Rhythm and Blues, the first Polish rock and roll band. The band held its first concert on 24 March 1959 at the "Rudy Kot" club and was dissolved in 1960 after a nationwide concert tour. In 1984, Kirsznik became a saxophonist in the Artistic Navy Team - Flotylla, accompanied by Irena Jarocka Irena Wanda Jarocka (18 August 1946 – 21 January 2012), was a Polish singer. Franciszek Walicki
Franciszek Walicki (20 July 1921 – 3 October 2015) was a Polish journalist. He was considered the father of Polish beat and rock music, calling them big-beat as rock and roll was unacceptable name for the authorities of the Polish People's Republic at the time. In 1956 he and Leopold Tyrmand organized the first Jazz Festival in Sopot. Irena Jarocka
Irena Wanda Jarocka (18 August 1946 – 21 January 2012), was a Polish singer. Career Education Jarocka was born in Srebrna Góra, Poland. She graduated from the V Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. Stefana Żeromskiego, and the faculty of music studies at Średnia Szkoła Muzyczna in Gdańsk, studying under professor Halina Mickiewiczówna. She later graduated from a Faculty of Biology at a teachers' college. Between 1969 and 1973 she lived in Paris on a scholarship, studying at Le Petit Conservatoire de la Chanson. Music Jarocka participated in amateur singing competitions, and worked with Zespół Estradowy Marynarki Wojennej Flotylla. In 1966, at 20 years old, she debuted at Klub Rudy Kot in Gdańsk, and first participated in the Krajowy Festiwal Piosenki Polskiej in Opole. She also performed at the Sopot Festival. National Festival Of Polish Song In Opole
The National Festival of Polish Song in Opole ( pl, Krajowy Festiwal Piosenki Polskiej w Opolu, KFPP) is an annual music festival in Opole, Poland. Together with the Sopot Festival it is one of the two most important music festivals in Poland. The Opole Festival is meant as a summary of the past year's achievements by Polish song writers and performers. It is also the most important cultural event in Opole, with a tradition going back 50 years. It usually takes place in late June, since 2011 lasting for two days (Friday and Saturday) From 2013 again it takes three days. During the KFPP both the hits of the past season and new debut songs are performed; there is also a tournament of performing debuts. Sopot International Song Festival
The Sopot International Song Festival or Sopot Festival (later called ''Sopot Music Festival Grand Prix'', ''Sopot Top of the Top Festival'' from 2012–13 and ''Polsat Sopot Festival'' in 2014) is an annual international song contest held in Sopot, Poland. It is the biggest Polish music festival altogether with the National Festival of Polish Song in Opole, and one of the biggest song contests in Europe. The contest was organised and transmitted live by the public Polish Television (TVP) between 1994 and 2004. The following year, the concert was broadcast by the private media station TVN for the first time and remained on TVN until 2009. From 2012 to 2014, the concert was broadcast and organised by Polsat. It was later cancelled by the broadcaster. The 2015 festival was not televised, however it returned in 2017 on TVN.
