Jan Apeldoorn
Jan Apeldoorn (27 January 1765, Amersfoort – 10 February 1838, Amersfoort) was a Dutch landscape painter, watercolorist, draftsman, art teacher, and miniaturist painter. Apeldoorn was a pupil of Jordan Hoorn in Amersfoort. He painted only few pictures in oil. He lived in Utrecht for fifty years (from 1788 to 1838), but died in his native town in 1838. Amersfoort
Amersfoort () is a city and municipality in the province of Utrecht, Netherlands, about 20 km from the city of Utrecht and 40 km south east of Amsterdam. As of 1 December 2021, the municipality had a population of 158,531, making it the second-largest of the province and fifteenth-largest of the country. Amersfoort is also one of the largest Dutch railway junctions with its three stations— Amersfoort Centraal, Schothorst and Vathorst—due to its location on two of the Netherlands' main east to west and north to south railway lines. The United Provinces of the Netherlands, also known as the (Seven) United Provinces, officially as the Republic of the Seven United Netherlands (Dutch: ''Republiek der Zeven Verenigde Nederlanden''), and commonly referred to in historiography as the Dutch Republic, was a federal republic that existed from 1579, during the Dutch Revolt, to 1795 (the Batavian Revolution). Jordanus Hoorn
Jordanus Hoorn (1753–1833) was a painter and drawing teacher from the Northern Netherlands. Biography Hoorn was born and died in Amersfoort.
