Joan Mary "Jan" Anderson FAA FRS (13 May 1932 – 28 August 2015) was a New Zealand scientist who worked in Canberra, Australia, distinguished by her investigation of photosynthesis. Life Joan Mary Anderson was born in 1932 in Queenstown, New Zealand. Her father Dr Bill Anderson was a country doctor. Her mother died, after a long illness, when Anderson was eight. Much to the disappointment of her father, who had wanted her to become a doctor, she studied organic chemistry at the University of Otago. At the time, degrees were issued by the University of New Zealand, and she obtained a BSc and MSc with first class honours. She obtained a scholarship, the King George V Memorial Fellowship for New Zealand, that allowed her to undertake postgraduate studies in the United States for one year. Jan Olof "Janne" Andersson (; born 29 September 1962) is a Swedish football coach who manages the Sweden national team. He is also a former player, with his playing career lasting 14 years between 1979 and 1993 playing for different Swedish clubs. Jan Andersson (Swedish Air Force Officer)
Major General Jan Robert Andreas Andersson (born 22 July 1955) is a retired Swedish Air Force officer. He served as Inspector of the Air Force from 2003 to 2008. Early life Andersson was born in Västervik, Sweden. He served in the Army Ranger School in Kiruna, Lapland and 19-years-old, on his way home from Kiruna, Andersson flew for the first time. He studied to become an engineer but dropped out and enrolled at the Swedish Air Force Flying School in Ljungbyhed. Career After graduating, Andersson was commissioned as an officer and was assigned to Norrbotten Wing (F 21). In the mid-1980s he was recruited to Linjeflyg as a commercial pilot but decided to stay in the air force. He underwent the management course at the Swedish National Defence College from 1987 to 1989. He flew Saab JAS 39 Gripen for the first time on 23 June 1993.
