Jamiro Monteiro
Jamiro Gregory Monteiro Alvarenga (born 23 November 1993), commonly known as Jamiro, is a professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Major League Soccer club San Jose Earthquakes. Born in the Netherlands, he plays for the Cape Verde national team. Early life Monteiro was raised by his Cape Verde immigrant parents in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Monteiro played in the youth teams of Sparta Rotterdam, FC Dordrecht, Hansa Rostock, FC Anker Wismar and SC Cambuur. Often viewed as undersized, at age 20, Monteiro's footballing skills eventually landed him the opportunity to join the U21 system at FC Dordrecht. Jack Byrne (born 24 April 1996) is an Irish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder, for League of Ireland club Shamrock Rovers, and the Republic of Ireland national team. The 2016–17 Eerste Divisie, known as Jupiler League for sponsorship reasons, was the sixty-first season of Eerste Divisie since its establishment in 1955. It began in August 2016 with the first matches of the season and ended in May 2017 with the finals of the promotion/relegation play-offs, also involving the 16th- and 17th-placed teams from the 2016–17 Eredivisie. The KNVB Beker (; en, KNVB Cup), branded as the TOTO KNVB Beker for sponsorship reasons, is a competition in the Netherlands organized by the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) since 1898. 2016–17 KNVB Cup
The 2016–17 KNVB Cup was the 99th season of the annual Dutch national football cup competition. It started on 6 September 2016 with the first of six rounds, and ended on 30 April 2017 with the final played at De Kuip in Rotterdam. This edition was notable for several unicums, which included holding the first test in an official match of a top tier-domestic competition of the Video assistant referee-system. Anouar Kali held the distinction of becoming the first player to receive a red card after an intervention from the video referee in the first round-game between Ajax and his team Willem II. The defending champions were Feyenoord from the Eredivisie, after beating FC Utrecht 2–1 in the final in the previous season on 24 April 2016.
