Jamion Christian
Jamion Christian (born April 18, 1982) is an American college basketball coach, who was most recently the head coach of the George Washington Colonials men's basketball team. He previously was the head coach at Siena and Mount St. Mary's. Biography Christian was born and raised in Quinton, Virginia. As a shooting guard, he led New Kent High School to a Virginia High School League State Championship with a 26–0 record and earned the VHSL Group A State Player of the Year honors. Christian then became a shooting guard and a three-year captain for Mount St. Mary's under head coaches Jim Phelan and Milan Brown. Christian has a strong pedigree in athletics, Christian's father, John, was a standout track athlete at Virginia State University. 2011–12 VCU Rams Men's Basketball Team
The 2011–12 VCU Rams men's basketball team represented Virginia Commonwealth University during the 2011–12 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. It was the 44th season of the University fielding a men's basketball program. Led by third-year head coach Shaka Smart, the Rams were coming off a season marked by a run to the Final Four. Expected to finish lower in the CAA regular season standings, the Rams finished as regular season runners-up with a 15–3 conference record, before winning the 2012 CAA Men's Basketball Championship against Drexel, 59–56, earning their 11th ever berth into the NCAA Tournament. It was also the first season since 1984–85 that the Rams consecutively qualified for the NCAA Tournament. Shaka Dingani Smart (born April 8, 1977) is an American men's college basketball coach. He is the current head men's basketball coach at Marquette University. Early life and playing career Smart grew up in Oregon, Wisconsin. In high school, Smart was a three-year starter for Oregon High School (Wisconsin), Oregon High School in his hometown. He was a second-team All-Badger Conference pick as a senior and by the end of his career was the all-time assists leader at Oregon High for a career (458), season (201) and single game (20). The NBA G League, or simply the G League, is the National Basketball Association's (NBA) official List of developmental and minor sports leagues, minor league basketball organization. The Maine Celtics (formerly the Maine Red Claws) are an American professional basketball team in the NBA G League based in Portland, Maine, and are affiliated with the Boston Celtics. Jarell Christian is an American basketball coach and former professional player. In October 2022, he was promoted to Director of Basketball Player Development with the Maine Celtics. During the 2021-22 season, he was the head coach of the Maine Celtics in the NBA G League. He played college basketball at Emory & Henry College. Previously, he served as an assistant coach for the Oklahoma City Blue. Virginia State University (VSU or Virginia State) is a public historically Black land-grant university in Ettrick, Virginia. Milan Brown
Milan Brown (born January 1971) is an American college basketball coach. He is currently an assistant coach for Pittsburgh. He was the head coach at Holy Cross until his firing on March 6, 2015. Prior to assuming this position in 2010, he succeeded Jim Phelan at Mount Saint Mary's University, who retired in 2003 after coaching for 49 years. Brown graduated in 1993 from Howard University, playing basketball there for four years. Brown was a member of the Bison squad which made the school's last NCAA tournament in 1992. His number was retired by the school in December 2005. On March 12, 2008, Brown led the Mountaineers to the 2007–08 Northeast Conference Championship game where they were victorious, 68–55, over Sacred Heart University.
