Jamie Ritchie
Jamie Ritchie (born 16 August 1996) is a Scotland international rugby union player who plays for Edinburgh Rugby in the United Rugby Championship. Rugby Union career Jamie Ritchie started his rugby career while being brought up in Dundee. One of his idols is Dundee-born Andy Nicol. Professional career While still a teenager, Ritchie made his first-team debut in October 2014 with an appearance from the replacements' bench in the Pro12 match against Leinster. Edinburgh Rugby (formerly Edinburgh Reivers, Edinburgh Gunners) is one of the two professional rugby union teams from Scotland. The club competes in the United Rugby Championship, along with the Glasgow Warriors, its oldest rival. Edinburgh plays most of its home games at Edinburgh Rugby Stadium. Cricket
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). The 2022 end of year rugby union tests, also known as the 2022 Autumn internationals, were a number of rugby union test matches played during the months of October and November. Dangerous Play In Rugby Union
Dangerous play in rugby union is dealt with under the foul play law (Law 9) in the official International Rugby Board (IRB) rugby union law book. It defines foul play as "anything a player does within the playing enclosure that is against the letter and spirit of the Laws of the Game". Under these laws dangerous play includes; punching or striking, stamping or trampling, and kicking. Process If a referee observes dangerous play they are obliged to penalise and admonish the perpetrator. This can result in a "temporary suspension" (yellow card) of 10 minutes or even a "sending off" (red card). If the offence is serious enough further action can be taken after the game, including bans from playing rugby and criminal charges. In some high-profile matches a citing commissioner is appointed, who can cite any player for dangerous play, whether they have been detected by the referee or not. Mohamed Haouas (born 9 March 1994) is a French rugby union player. His position is prop. He currently plays for the Montpellier Hérault in the Top 14. Haouas was banned from playing for three weeks in 2020 after punching Scottish player Jamie Ritchie during the 2020 Six Nations Championship. In February 2023 he became the first ever player to be sent off twice playing for the French international team. On Friday, February 4th, 2022, Haouas was sentenced for his role in a series of burglaries of tobacco merchants in France in 2014.
