Jamie Franks (soccer)
Jamie Franks (born September 25, 1986 in Medford, New Jersey) is an American soccer player who last played for Rochester Rhinos in the USSF Division 2 Professional League. He is currently the head coach for the University of Denver. Franks is one of four brothers; Ryan, Brad, and Kyle. Career Youth and College Franks attended Shawnee High School, where he was the 2004 New Jersey High School Player of the Year, a NSCAA/adidas High School All-American and a two-time NSCAA/adidas Youth All-American, and played club soccer for Medford Speed and the PDA Conquistadors. He played college soccer at Wake Forest University from 2005 to 2008, appearing in 93 games for them in this period. In his senior year he had 3 goals and 11 assists. He compiled 7 goals and 20 assists over his four years, appeared in three college cups and won the 2007 National Championship. 2007 Division I Men's College Cup
The 2007 NCAA Division I men's soccer tournament was a tournament of 48 teams from NCAA Division I who played for the NCAA Championship in soccer. The College Cup for the final four teams was held at SAS Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina. All other games were played at the home field of the higher-seeded team. The final was held on December 16, 2007. In the final, Wake Forest defeated Ohio State, 2–1, with second-half goals scored by Marcus Tracy and Zach Schilawski. The NCAA Division I men's soccer tournament, sometimes known as the College Cup, is an American intercollegiate College soccer, soccer tournament conducted by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and determines the NCAA Division I, Division I men's national champion. The 2009 season is the 23rd season played by the United Soccer Leagues. Season titles will be contested by 20 professional men's clubs in the USL First Division and USL Second Division, as well as 37 professional and amateur women's clubs in the W-League and 68 professional and amateur men's teams in the USL Premier Development League. The First Division season kicked off on April 11 with the US Open Cup finalist Charleston Battery and host defending champions Vancouver Whitecaps FC playing to a scoreless tie, while the Carolina RailHawks defeated the visiting Minnesota Thunder 2–1. 2016 Denver Pioneers Men's Soccer Team
The 2016 Denver Pioneers men's soccer team represented the University of Denver during the 2016 NCAA Division I men's soccer season. The Pioneers played in Summit League where they won the regular season and conference tournament titles. They finished the regular season as one of only two unbeaten teams, the other being top-ranked Maryland. The Pioneers qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the fourth straight season and their seventh overall time. The Pioneers earned a Second Round-bye and were seeded sixth in the tournament. In the second round, they played the UNLV Rebels where they won 3–0, marking their first NCAA Tournament win since 1970.
