Jamia Islamia Bhatkal is an Islamic seminary of Islamic learning located in Bhatkal, Karnataka, India. It was established in 1962 and celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2012. Jamia was a venue for a conference of All India Muslim Personal Law Board held in 2009 and the Muslim World League's educational convention in 2012. Library The library inside the campus is certified by UGC as a research-level facility for Islamic, philosophy and Arabic studies. This library has a collection of 40000 books in Arabic and English, about philosophy, jurisprudence, religion, literature, Islamic law. Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulama
Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulama (translated as, House of Knowledge and Assembly of Scholars University) is an Islamic seminary in Lucknow, India. It was established by the Nadwatul Ulama, a council of Muslim scholars, on 26 September 1898. This educational institution draws large number of Muslim students from all over the world. Nadwatul Ulama fosters a diverse range of both scholars and students including Hanafis (the predominant group), Shafi'is and Ahl al-Hadith. Additionally it is one of very few institutes in the region to teach the Islamic sciences completely in Arabic. Deobandi Islamic Universities And Colleges
Deobandi is a revivalist movement within Sunni Islam, adhering to the Hanafi school of law, formed in the late 19th century around the Darul Uloom Madrassa in Deoband, India, from which the name derives, by Muhammad Qasim Nanautavi, Rashid Ahmad Gangohi, and several others, after the Indian Rebellion of 1857–58. Nawayath
The Nawayath (also spelled as Navayath and Nawayat and also called Nait, Naiti , Naithee and Naita) are an Indian community and a subgroup of Konkani Muslims. They speak the Nawayathi dialect of Konkani. The term, as described by Qanoon-e-Islam, Mark Wilks and The Imperial Gazetteer of India, means "new comers" in Persian, referring to Arab emigrants in India. Indian historian Omar Khalidi says they are one of three groups of Indian Muslims who have used the Nawayath name. These groups have common origins in Arabia and Yemen and Persian Gulf regions, where they were mariners and merchants. One group is based mainly in Bhatkal, Tonse, Malpe, Shiroor, Gangolli, Sagar, Kumta, Kandlur and Murdeshwar villages in Karnataka, while another is found in Chennai around Royapettah who have moved from Meenambur, a small village located between Gingee and Villupuram in Tamil Nadu. Darul Uloom Deoband
The Darul Uloom Deoband is an Islamic seminary (darul uloom) in India at which the Sunni Deobandi Islamic movement began. It is located in Deoband, a town in Saharanpur district, Uttar Pradesh. The seminary was established by Muhammad Qasim Nanautavi, Fazlur Rahman Usmani, Sayyid Muhammad Abid and others in 1866. Mahmud Deobandi was the first teacher and Mahmud Hasan Deobandi was the first student. University Grants Commission (UGC) is a statutory body set up by the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India in accordance to the UGC Act 1956 and is charged with coordination, determination and maintenance of standards of higher education in India. It provides recognition to universities in India, and disbursements of funds to such recognized universities and colleges.
