The Jamestown Jackals are a professional basketball team in Jamestown, New York, United States, and members of The Basketball League (TBL). History The Jamestown Jackals were founded in 2015 by Kayla Crosby and joined the minor professional Premier Basketball League (PBL) for the 2016 season. After the 2017 season, the PBL folded. The Jackals then played the 2018 season in the semi-professional North American Basketball League (NABL) as part of a new Northeast Division. Jamestown Community College is a public community college with campuses in Jamestown and Olean, New York. It is part of the State University of New York system. JCC also has extension centers in Dunkirk, New York and Warren, Pennsylvania. The college offers more than 60 degree and certificate programs. The Premier Basketball League, often abbreviated to the PBL, is an American professional men's basketball minor league that began play in January 2008. The league folded after the 2017 season. North American Basketball League
The North American Basketball League (NABL) is an American minor professional basketball league organization founded in 2016. History Formed in 2016, the NABL began with 10 teams based in the South and Southwest regions of the United States. The first regular season games were played on April 30, 2016. Atlanta Show defeated Music City Kings in the first-ever league game 113-78. Atlanta Show would go undefeated on their way to capture the first league championship in August by defeating the Dallas Hoyas 145-110 in the championship game. Season two saw expansion to a national level with 19 teams competing. Four teams from the Northwest were added including the Vancouver-based SB Battle. 2019 TBL Season
The 2019 TBL season is the second season of The Basketball League (TBL) after one season as North American Premier Basketball (NAPB). After the first NAPB season, league president Dave Magley acquired the league as sole owner, moved the headquarters to Indiana, and named Evelyn Magley as the new CEO. On July 14, the league was rebranded as The Basketball League. On August 16, 2018, Paul Mokeski was named the commissioner of the league after having served the previous season as head coach and general manager of the Nevada Desert Dogs. During the previous season, four expansion teams were announced for 2019 in the Raleigh Firebirds, San Diego Waves, Tampa Bay Titans, and a Bellevue, Washington-based team.
