James Yoshimura
James Yoshimura is an American writer and producer, best known for his screenwriting work on the NBC series '' Homicide: Life on the Street'' and the short-lived Fox series '' The Jury'', for which he served as a co-creator. He also co-wrote ''Homicide: The Movie'', a made-for-television film that came out in 2000, after the series ended. Yoshimura has received two Emmy Award nominations: one for ''Homicide: The Movie'' and one for the ''Homicide'' episode " Subway", which also won a Peabody Award for excellence in television broadcasting. Biography Yoshimura was born in Chicago, Illinois. He attended the Yale School of Drama in New Haven, Connecticut, where he had a playwriting class with classmate and future comedian Lewis Black. Yoshimura began his career writing for theater. Among his theater works were the plays "Union Boys", and "Mercenaries". The Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series is an award presented annually by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (ATAS). The 50th Primetime Emmy Awards were held on Sunday, September 13, 1998. It was broadcast on NBC. When ''Frasier'' was announced as the winner of Outstanding Comedy Series, Emmy history was made. The NBC sitcom became the first show to win one of the two main series prizes five consecutive years. ''Taxicab Confessions'' is a television series of hidden camera documentaries that aired on HBO from 1995 through 2006. When passengers enter the cab, they are recorded with several small cameras hidden in the taxi. The producer prompts passengers into discussing their past and/or present circumstances. This has led some participants to reflect on their life, recalling extreme tragedies or triumphs. Much is verbally or visually graphic, including explicit sex talk and sex acts performed in the back seat. At the end of the taxi ride, passengers are asked to sign waivers allowing the hidden camera footage to be used on the program, and footage of this revelation is sometimes seen during the closing credits.
