James Watts (Mayor Of Manchester)
Sir James Watts (6 March 1804 – 7 April 1878) was Mayor of Manchester (1855–1857), High Sheriff of Lancashire and owner of Abney Hall. He was the owner of ''S & J Watts Limited'', who built the Watts Warehouse on Portland Street. Watts was born March 1804, and baptised on 15 April 1804 at St Thomas Ardwick. He started his life as a weaver in Didsbury. He became partners with his brothers Samuel and John and became an important figure among British industrialists, socialising with politicians and churchmen at his home, Abney Hall, in Cheadle. He was elected a councillor for St James's Ward, became mayor in 1855, was re-elected in 1856, and at the same time an alderman.Chronology of Salford Hundred

The Current and 124th Lord Mayor is Cllr Donna Ludford, Labour who has served Since May 2022, and was elected Councillor for the Ancoats and Clayton ward in 2013 and following boundary changes became Councillor for Clayton and Openshaw. The Lord Mayor position, is selected by a vote of councillors, and is a Ceremonial role, with the holder attending civic events, promoting chosen causes and chairing meetings of Manchester City Council, while acting as a city Ambassador. The Lord Mayor’s term lasts for one year, and a new Lord Mayor Is elected in a full council meeting, usually in May. Felicity Peake
Air Commandant Dame Felicity Hyde, Lady Peake ( Watts; 1 May 1913 – 2 November 2002) was the founding director of the Women's Royal Air Force (WRAF) She started flying when her first husband took up the hobby in 1935, but in 1946 became the first director of the WRAF. She was Honorary Aide-de-camp to King George VI from 1949 to 1950. Early years and career Peake spent much of her youth at Haslington Hall, an Elizabethan house near Crewe, bought by her father after the First World War. Her father, Colonel Humphrey Watts, was a prosperous Manchester-based industrialist whose family's wealth derived from S & J Watts, a textile business founded in 1798. Peake was educated at St. Winifred's, Eastbourne, but left before taking her school certificate to go on to a finishing school outside Paris. James Watts (British Politician)
James Watts (22 August 1903 – 7 July 1961) was a Conservative politician in the United Kingdom. He was elected at the 1959 general election as Member of Parliament for Manchester Moss Side, but died in office two years later, aged 57. His aunt was Dame Agatha Christie, who dedicated several books to him, including ''The Secret of Chimneys'' (1925). Early life James "Jack" Watts was the only child of James "Jim" Watts and Margaret Watts. He was born at his parents' home, Manor Lodge, close to his paternal grandparents' estate of Abney Hall, Cheadle. The High Sheriff of Lancashire is an ancient officer, now largely ceremonial, granted to Lancashire, a county in North West England. High Shrievalties are the oldest secular titles under the Crown, in England and Wales. Albert, Prince Consort
Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (Franz August Karl Albert Emanuel; 26 August 1819 – 14 December 1861) was the consort of Queen Victoria from their marriage on 10 February 1840 until his death in 1861.
