Dropkick Murphys are an American Celtic punk band formed in Quincy, Massachusetts in 1996. Singer and bassist Ken Casey has been the band's only constant member. Other current members include drummer Matt Kelly (1997– ), singer Al Barr (1998– ), guitarist James Lynch (2000– ), multi-instrumentalist Tim Brennan (2003– ) and multi-instrumentalist Jeff DaRosa (2007– ). Robert Bage (11 March 1730 – 1 September 1801) was an English businessman and novelist. Biography Born in Darley Abbey, near Derby, Bage was the son of a paper-maker who had four wives, the first of whom was Bage's mother. She died soon after his birth. Bage received his early education at a common school in Derby, where he was an excellent student. He attained a working knowledge of Latin by the age of seven. He was given his training as a paper-maker while he was an apprentice to his father. At the age of 23 Bage married a beautiful and wealthy young woman. General Sir James Maxwell Wallace, KH (21 February 1783 – 3 February 1867), of Ainderby Hall, near Northallerton, was a British Army officer. Biography James Maxwell was born the fifth son of John Wallace of Kelly, a local landowner and owner of plantations in the West Indies. James John Arundel Wallace, AM is a retired Australian Army officer and a current lobbyist on social issues. Wallace was the managing director of the Australian Christian Lobby from 2000 to 2013. He is now the Chairman of that organisation. Early life and military career Wallace studied at the Royal Military College, Duntroon and the British Army Staff College. He served in the Australian Army for 32 years, reaching the rank of brigadier. His service included command of the Special Air Service Regiment (1988–1990). He was made a Member of the Order of Australia in 1984. Activism and criticism Wallace has publicly expressed opposition to women in combat and changing the Marriage Act of Australia. Several of his public comments, particularly those about homosexuality, have attracted criticism. Wallace has raised concerns about violent video games. James Wallace (minister)
James Wallace (1642–1688) was a Scottish minister in Orkney and topographical writer. Life He studied at the University of Aberdeen, where he graduated M.A. on 27 April 1659. He was shortly afterwards appointed minister of Ladykirk in Orkney. From there he was translated to Kirkwall in 1672. On 16 October 1678 he was also collated by Bishop Mackenzie to the prebend of St. John in St Magnus Cathedral. Wallace died of fever in September 1688. James Wallace ( fl. 1684–1724) was a Scottish physician and botanist. Life He was the eldest son of James Wallace, a minister in Orkney. He qualified M.D., and took part in the Darien scheme. He passed some plants from what is now Panama to James Petiver, and Hans Sloane. He became Fellow of the Royal Society, and had some employment with the East India Company. His later life is obscure. James Wallace (8 April 1821 – 22 July 1885) was an Irish-American benefactor, best known for his major donations that led to the founding of German Wallace College (1864–1913) and the present Baldwin Wallace University. Life Wallace was born in Ballinamore, County Leitrim, Ireland and died in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan, US. He arrived in the US in 1846. He became a wealthy businessman, operating a stone quarry in Berea, Ohio. In the 1850s he gave land and money to the Baldwin Institute to fund the education of the local German workforce and establish teaching in German. The German department at the Baldwin Institute subsequently became the German Wallace College in 1866. Sir James Wallace (1731–6 March 1803) was an officer of the Royal Navy. He served for a time as a colonial governor. Career in England Wallace was born in Loddon, Norfolk in 1731 and was the son of Thomas and Mary (née Beamish) Wallace (married 1725) of Loddon. He had a brother William Wallace (b. 1730) and a sister Mary Wallace (b. 1727).
