James W. Horne
James Wesley Horne (December 14, 1881June 29, 1942) was an American actor, screenwriter, and film director. Silent era James Horne began his career as an actor under director Sidney Olcott at Kalem Studios in 1913 and directed his first film for the company two years later. He then specialized in multi-chapter serials. Kalem discontinued operations in 1917 when it was sold to the Vitagraph company. Horne remained in the serial field, signing with Universal Pictures late that year. Horne specialized in staging thrill scenes for features and serials. On the strength of Horne's work in '' Cruise of the Jasper B'', Buster Keaton hired him to direct Keaton's 1927 comedy ''College''. John Warren Hull (January 17, 1903 – September 14, 1974), known professionally as Warren Hull, was an American actor, singer and television personality active from the 1930s through the 1960s. Louis Weiss (December 21, 1890 – December 14, 1963, Los Angeles) was an American independent producer of low-budget comedies, westerns, serials, and exploitation films. Early life Louis Weiss was born in New York City and left school after third grade (elementary school), according to the 1940 US Census. In 1907 he established a nickelodeon theater, launching a lifelong enthusiasm for motion pictures. In the 1920s he joined with his brothers Adolph and Max to form the Weiss Brothers production company, with money earned from a New York lamp-and-fixture store, phonograph sales, and ownership of a theater that developed into a small chain. James Parrott (August 2, 1897 – May 10, 1939) was an American actor and film director; and the younger brother of film comedian Charley Chase. Biography Early years James Gibbons Parrott was born in Baltimore, Maryland, to Charles and Blanche Thompson Parrott. In 1903, his father died from a heart attack, leaving the family in bad financial shape, which forced them to move in with a relative.
