James Trittipo
James Trittipo (June 30, 1928 — September 15, 1971) was an American television art director and stage set designer in New York and Hollywood, known for his designs of television variety shows including ''The Bing Crosby Show'' (ABC-March 2, 1959), '' The Frank Sinatra Show (CBS)'', '' The Frank Sinatra Timex Show: Welcome Home Elvis'', and '' An Evening with Fred Astaire''. Trittipo won Art Direction Emmy Awards for the ABC Television variety series ''The Hollywood Palace'' and ''An Evening with Fred Astaire''. He designed a set "evocative of waterfront pilings" for Rod McKuen's May 10, 1969 television special on NBC.TV GUIDE, Carolina-Tennessee Edition, May 10-16 1969, p A-10. The Frank Sinatra Show (CBS)
''The Frank Sinatra Show'' (also known as ''Bulova Watch Time'') is an American musical variety series hosted by Frank Sinatra from 1950 to 1952. The series aired on CBS on Saturdays the first season and on Tuesdays for the second year. As with many variety shows of the time, the show was broadcast live and was recorded via kinescope. Some episodes were 30 minutes long while others lasted for 60 minutes. At least one episode aired in a 45-minute time-slot. Overview Hosted by Frank Sinatra, the series was sponsored by Bulova Watches. Sinatra would perform songs and sketches with his guests. The series is reportedly in the public domain. ''The Hollywood Palace'' was an hour-long American television variety show that was broadcast weekly Saturday nights (except September 1967 to January 1968, when it was seen Monday nights) on ABC from January 4, 1964, to February 7, 1970. Titled ''The Saturday Night Hollywood Palace'' during its first few weeks, it began as a midseason replacement for ''The Jerry Lewis Show'', another variety show, which had lasted only three months. Rod McKuen
Rodney Marvin McKuen (; April 29, 1933 – January 29, 2015) was an American poet, singer-songwriter, and actor. He was one of the best-selling poets in the United States during the late 1960s. Throughout his career, McKuen produced a wide range of recordings, which included popular music, spoken word poetry, film soundtracks and classical music. He earned two Academy Award nominations for his music compositions. McKuen's translations and adaptations of the songs of Jacques Brel were instrumental in bringing the Belgian songwriter to prominence in the English-speaking world. His poetry deals with themes of love, the natural world and spirituality. McKuen's songs sold over 100 million recordings worldwide, and 60 million books of his poetry were sold as well.
