James Toher
James Toher (born 1993) is an Irish hurler who plays centre back for the Meath senior team. Born in Trim, County Meath, Toher first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of sixteen when he first linked up with the Meath minor team before later joining the under-21 side. He made his senior debut during the 2012 league. Toher quickly became a regular member of the starting fifteen and has since won one Christy Ring Cup medal (2016). He captained his side to this historic win, lifting the cup twice in a single month after a controversial scoreline deemed correct by the referee was overturned by the CCC and a replay awarded. At international level, Toher has played for the composite rules shinty-hurling team, captaining the U21s in 2013 and 2014 and made his senior debut in 2015. At club level, he plays with Trim. Trim GAA
Trim GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Trim, in County Meath, Ireland. The club fields both Gaelic football and hurling teams. It competes in Meath GAA competitions. Trim is known as the home of hurling in Meath and the Meath Senior Hurling Championship final was held there each year until the redevelopment of its facilities meant it was moved to Pairc Tailteann. 2011 Football Relegation Trim finished at the bottom of Group A, with 3 points from 5 games and point difference of -30, the lowest of any team that year. Trim's only win was a 1-15 to 1-10 defeat of Blackhall Gaels on 7 August 2011. Trim's first relegation play-off was against Nobber on 20 August, Trim were beaten 3-8 to 1-16. 2016 Christy Ring Cup
The 2016 Christy Ring Cup was the 12th staging of the Christy Ring Cup hurling championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 2005. The competition began on Saturday 23 April 2016 and ended on Saturday 25 June 2016. Kerry GAA, Kerry were the 2015 Christy Ring Cup, 2015 champions and were promoted to the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship. In the first final on 4 June 2016 a mistake was made in recording the score. Meath GAA, Meath were presented with the Christy Ring Cup as the final score was believed to be Meath 2-18 to Antrim GAA, Antrim's 1-20. On 7 June 2016 the CCCC ordered that the final be replayed. Martin Kavanagh (born 1994) is an Irish hurler who currently plays as a right corner-forward for the Carlow senior team. Born in Bahana, County Carlow, Kavanagh first played competitive hurling during his schooling at Borris Vocational School. He arrived on the inter-county scene when he first linked up with the Carlow minor team before later joining the under-21 side. He was part of the famous Carlow team that won the Joe McDonagh cup in 2023 He made his senior debut during the 2012 championship. The Meath County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) ( ga, Cumann Lúthchleas Gael Coiste na Mí) or Meath GAA is one of the 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland, and is responsible for Gaelic games in County Meath, as well as for Meath county teams. Christy Ring Cup
The Christy Ring Cup () is an annual hurling competition organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association. Originally introduced as a second-tier competition, it is currently the third tier overall in the inter-county hurling championship system. Each year, the champions of the Christy Ring Cup are promoted to the Joe McDonagh Cup, and the lowest finishing team is relegated to the Nicky Rackard Cup. Kildare are the 2022 title-holders.
