James Sellar (footballer)
James Michael Sellar (born 24 March 1989 in Adelaide) is an Australian rules footballer who played with and in the Australian Football League (AFL). Sellar was selected in the 2006 AFL draft by the Adelaide Football Club at No. 14 overall, considered a bargain pick at the time considering he was touted as a potential top-5 pick. Sellar was educated at Brighton Secondary School along with other AFL draftees Bryce Gibbs and Mark Austin. At 196 cm and weighing 95 kg, Sellar is a key position forward who can also help out with some ruck duties. Sellar represented Australia in the International rules football Youth Test between Australia and Ireland, and has also represented Australia in volleyball, in the Under-19 Internationals in Taiwan. He was named best player at the national Under 16 Championships in 2005 and also played in the Under 18 national championships in 2006. James Sellar (minister)
James Sellar (1812–1886) was a Scottish minister who served as Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland in 1875. Life He was born in Keith on 20 February 1812 the son of Thomas Sellar a shoemaker, and his wife, Rachel Robertson. He was educated at Keith Academy then studied at King's College, Aberdeen graduating MA in 1837 then doing further studies in divinity at St Andrews University. From 1838 to 1843 he was a schoolmaster at St Andrews Lhanbryde, being licensed to preach as a Church of Scotland minister by the Presbytery of Elgin in September 1842. In July 1843 he was ordained as minister of Aberlour. In 1858 King's College awarded him an honorary Doctor of Divinity. In 1867 he served on the Committee on Aids to Devotion. In 1875 he succeeded Rev Prof Samuel Trail as Moderator of the General Assembly, the highest position in the Church of Scotland. He was succeeded in turn by Rev George Cook. James "Jim" Sellar (born ) is a Scottish and British wheelchair curler. At the international level he is a curler and two-time bronze medallist (2002, 2007). As a member of Great Britain team he participated in the 2010 Winter Paralympics. At the national level he is a six-time Scottish wheelchair champion curler (2006, 2010, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018). James Zimri Sellar
James Zimri Sellar (4 November 1830 – 20 December 1906) was an Australian politician who represented the South Australian House of Assembly multi-member seat of Adelaide from 1905 to 1906 for the United Labor Party. Sellar was born in Vauxhall in London, England, and migrated to South Australia at the age of nineteen. In 1849, he attended the historic meeting at Neale's Exchange to discuss the proposed Constitution of South Australia. He became a turner in 1850, and also worked as a shorthand reporter for the ''South Australian Register''. He was involved in a campaign among mechanics at Kooringa, near Burra, for an eight-hour day, becoming their spokesperson. He went to Bendigo during the Victorian gold rush, but returned to South Australia in 1853, and having had some success, established the Vauxhall Tea Company, which he operated for 44 years.
