James S. A. Corey
James S. A. Corey is the pen name used by collaborators Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck, authors of the science fiction series ''The Expanse''. The first and last name are taken from Abraham's and Franck's middle names, respectively, and S. A. are the initials of Abraham's daughter. The name is also meant to emulate many of the space opera writers of the 1970s. In Germany, their books are published under the name James Corey with the middle initials omitted. Career Under the pen name James S. A. Corey, fantasy author Daniel Abraham began to collaborate with Ty Franck (who had worked as a personal assistant to George R. R. Martin) in 2011. Together they wrote ''Leviathan Wakes'' (2011), the first science fiction novel in the series ''The Expanse''. Ty Franck
Ty Franck (born May 18, 1969) is an American novelist, screenwriter, and television producer. He is best known for co-authoring ''The Expanse'' with Daniel Abraham under the pseudonym James S. A. Corey, as well as '' Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series'' (2014) and ''The Expanse: Expanded'' (2016). The Expanse novels have been adapted into the television series ''The Expanse'' (2015–2022), with both Franck and Abraham serving as writers and producers on the show. Franck wrote the ''Star Wars'' novel '' Honor Among Thieves'' (2014) with Abraham and used the pen name James S. A. Corey again. In addition to his own work, Franck has served as personal assistant to George R. R. Martin and has written for Martin's ''Wild Cards'' universe. Jonathan Strahan
Jonathan Strahan (born 1964, Belfast, Northern Ireland) is an editor and publisher of science fiction, fantasy, and horror. His family moved to Perth, Western Australia in 1968, and he graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Arts in 1986. In 1990 he co-founded ''Eidolon: The Journal of Australian Science Fiction and Fantasy'', and worked on it as co-editor and co-publisher until 1999. He was also co-publisher of Eidolon Books which published Robin Pen's ''The Secret Life of Rubber-Suit Monsters'', Howard Waldrop's ''Going Home Again'', Storm Constantine's ''The Thorn Boy'', and Terry Dowling's ''Blackwater Days''. Gardner Raymond Dozois ( ; July 23, 1947 – May 27, 2018) was an American people, American science fiction author and editing, editor. He was the founding editor of ''The Year's Best Science Fiction'' anthologies (1984–2018) and was editor of ''Asimov's Science Fiction'' magazine (1986–2004), garnering multiple Hugo Award, Hugo and Locus Awards for those works almost every year.
