Murder Of Cha Vang
Cha Vang was a 30-year-old Hmong man from Green Bay, who was murdered by James Nichols on January 6, 2007. Cha Vang was found shot and stabbed, his corpse hidden, in the woods near Peshtigo, Wisconsin. Nichols admitted to killing Vang, insisting the killing was self-defense. On March 19, 2007, Nichols pleaded not guilty to the charges of first degree intentional homicide, felony possession of a weapon, and hiding a corpse. On October 6, 2007, a jury found Nichols guilty of a lesser charge of second degree intentional homicide and sentenced him to 60 years in prison. "The message sent to the Hmong community is that someone can shoot a Hmong hunter and not get the maximum sentence," said Tou Ger Xiong, spokesman for the Coalition for Community Relations in St. Paul, Minnesota. James Nichols (printer)
James Nichols (1785–1861) was an English printer and theological writer. Life He was born at Washington, Durham, 6 April 1785. Because of family financial troubles he had to work in a factory at Holbeck, Leeds, from the age of eight to twelve, but also studied Latin grammar. His father was later able to send him to Leeds Grammar School. Nichols was for some time a private tutor, and then entered into business as a printer and bookseller at Briggate, Leeds. Nichols died in Hoxton Square on 26 November 1861. He married Miss Bursey of Stockton-on-Tees in 1813, and had many children, of whom two survived. Works Nichols printed some small volumes, including John Byrom's ''Poems'' (1814), and pamphlets, and edited the '' Leeds Literary Observer'' vol. i., from January to September 1819. James Edward Nichols
Prof James Edward Nichols FRSE (22 November 1902 – 28 March 1972) was a Welsh geneticist. Life He was born in Southport in Lancashire on 22 November 1902. He was educated at Carlisle Grammar School then studied at Durham University graduating BSc in 1923 and MSc in 1924. He then went to the University of Edinburgh as a postgraduate gaining a doctorate (PhD) in 1927. In 1928, aged 26, he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh. His proposers were Francis Albert Eley Crew, James Hartley Ashworth, James Ritchie and John Stephenson. In 1935, aged 33, he became Professor of Agriculture at the University of Western Australia. He returned to Edinburgh in 1939 as Director of the Centre for Animal Breeding and Genetics. Terry Nichols
Terry Lynn Nichols (born April 1, 1955) is an American domestic terrorist who was convicted of being an accomplice in the Oklahoma City bombing. Prior to his incarceration, he held a variety of short-term jobs, working as a farmer, grain elevator manager, real estate salesman, and ranch hand. He met his future co-conspirator, Timothy McVeigh, during a brief stint in the U.S. Army, which ended in 1989 when he requested a hardship discharge after less than one year of service. In 1994 and 1995, he conspired with McVeigh in the planning and preparation of the truck bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on April 19, 1995. The bombing killed 168 people. In a federal trial in 1997, Nichols was convicted of conspiracy to use a weapon of mass destruction and eight counts of involuntary manslaughter for killing federal law enforcement personnel.
