James Nash (racing Driver)
James Nash (born 16 December 1985, in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire) is a British auto racing driver. On 16 October 2011 at the final round of the 2011 BTCC season he clinched the independents' championship. In 2014, he is competing in the Blancpain Endurance Series for the Belgian Audi Club Team WRT. Racing career Early years Nash raced in karting until 2005 when he started racing in Formula Ford cars. He took one win, two poles, two fastest laps, one second and one third out of the six races in his first season. He was nominated for the McLaren Autosport BRDC Award in 2006. In 2007 he finished runner-up in the British Formula Ford Championship, his second year in the national series. Nash tested with British Formula 3 team Fluid Motorsport and then tested a Spanish Formula 3 Championship car at Silverstone with Team West-Tec. Fluid Motorsport Development constructs the Sinter Formula Ford car. The company also fielded a racing team in British Formula Ford between 2002 and 2012. Fluid Motorsport was also active in British Formula 3 as a team between 2005 and 2008. History Lindsay Allen was a race engineer for various teams and worked on various cars. In the off-season he would work at Van Diemen before setting up Nexa Racing in 2002. Nexa Racing was founded by Lindsay Allen and fellow former Van Diemen engineer Roger Littin. Motorbase Performance is a British motor racing team, founded in 2004 by former Production Saloon racer David Bartrum. They are best known for competing in the British Touring Car Championship. Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain The team started out by contesting the 2004 Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain, finishing second in the teams championship despite their best-known driver Damien Faulkner only joining mid-season. Snetterton Circuit is a motor racing course in Norfolk, England, originally opened in 1953. Owned by Jonathan Palmer's MotorSport Vision organisation, it is situated on the A11 road north-east of the town of Thetford and south-west of the city of Norwich. Oulton Park is a hard surfaced track used for motor racing, close to the village of Little Budworth, Cheshire, England. It is about from Winsford, from Chester city centre, from Northwich and from Warrington, with a nearby rail connection along the Mid-Cheshire Line. Tempus Sport are a former British motor sport team based in Milton Keynes. The team was set up in 2008, with a view to first start racing in 2009. Some of the personnel are former employees of experienced team RML, including team director Richard Coleman. Massimiliano Pedalà (born 22 December 1969 in Cantù, Como) is an Italian auto racing driver. Career Early racing included the Italian Renault Mégane SportCup and the European Renault Clio RS Cup. In 2002 he competed in the Italian Alfa 147 Cup, finishing the season fourth on points. From 2004, he has raced in the Italian Renault Clio Cup, winning three successive titles in 2005,2006 and 2007. Touring Cars
Touring car racing is a motorsport road racing competition with heavily modified road-going cars. It has both similarities to and significant differences from stock car racing, which is popular in the United States. While the cars do not move as fast as those in formula or sports car races, their similarity both to one another and to fans' own vehicles makes for entertaining, well-supported racing. The lesser use of aerodynamics means following cars have a much easier time passing than in open-wheel racing, and the more substantial bodies of the cars makes the subtle bumping and nudging for overtaking much more acceptable as part of racing. As well as short "sprint" races, many touring car series include one or more endurance races, which last anything from 3 to 24 hours and are a test of reliability and pit crews as much as car, driver speed, and consistency.
