James Morris (artist)
James Morris (1908–1989) was a British war artist during the Second World War. Biography Morris worked as a miner in South Wales until 1929, when he moved to London, where he worked as a designer throughout the 1930s, including a spell as an interior designer for Harrods. At the start of World War Two, he worked in civil defence for a brief period before joining the Royal Navy as a signaller. Morris served on Arctic convoy ships, including one that was shelled by the ''Tirpitz''. He sold drawings and a sketchbook depicting his experiences in Archangel and Murmansk to the War Artists' Advisory Committee, WAAC. In 1945, whilst still serving in the Navy, WAAC approved a full-time salaried contract for Morris, to record the work in the Far East of the British Pacific Fleet, alongside Leonard Rosoman. James Morris (born July 5, 1952) is an American retired professional wrestler and current radio host, better known by his ring name, Hillbilly Jim. He is best known for his appearances with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) from 1984 to 1991, and in the series ''Hillbilly Moments''. James Craik Morris
James Craik Morris (June 18, 1870 - March 5, 1944) was bishop of what is now the Anglican Diocese of Panama, and of the Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana from 1930 to 1939. Education Morris was born on June 18, 1870, in Louisville, Kentucky, the son of John Hite Morris and Fanny Craik. He was educated at the Old Grammar House in Sewanee, Tennessee and later graduated with a Bachelor of Letters from Sewanee: The University of the South in 1890 and his Masters a year later. James Winston Morris (born 1949) is an American Islamic theologian, currently a professor in the Department of Theology at Boston College. Before teaching at Boston College, he held the Sharjah Chair of Islamic Studies at the University of Exeter. James Ward Morris Jr. (November 14, 1890 – November 15, 1960) was a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. Education and career Born in Smithfield, North Carolina, Morris received an Artium Baccalaureus degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1912. He attended the University of North Carolina School of Law, but read law to enter the bar in 1913. He was in private practice in Tampa, Florida from 1913 to 1933. James William Morris (born 23 November 2001) is an English professional footballer who plays as a left-back for club Watford. Career Morris signed his first professional contract with Southampton in August 2020, having been with his boyhood club since joining at Under-10's. On 4 June 2021, Southampton announced their retained list which confirmed Morris had been released. Having impressed while on trial, Morris signed for Watford on a one-year contract with the option of another year on 2 August 2021. James Ogilvy Fairlie Morris (8 January 1856 – 8 April 1906) was a Scottish professional golfer. Morris had multiple top-10 finishes in The Open Championship, including a third-place finish in the 1878 event held at Prestwick Golf Club in Prestwick, South Ayrshire, Scotland. He was the son of Tom Morris, Sr., also known as Old Tom Morris, and was named after James Ogilvie Fairlie, a mentor and patron of his father. He died in 1906 aged 50 of heart failure, unmarried. Early life Morris was born on 8 January 1856 in Prestwick, Scotland. At age 22 he was entered to play in the 1878 Open Championship. At such a young age he was already an experienced tournament player having entered at least two prior Open Championship tournaments.
