James Montgomery (footballer, Born 1994)
James Hayden Montgomery (born 20 April 1994) is an English professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Gateshead on loan from club Spennymoor Town. Early and personal life Born in Sunderland, his grandfather was a cousin of footballer Jimmy Montgomery. Career Montgomery began his career playing youth football for Middlesbrough. He then played in non-league with Guiseley, before attending the Nike Football Academy and signing with AFC Telford United in 2015. While with Telford he also began training with Sunderland (in July 2016), and with the V9 Academy (in November 2016). He moved to Gateshead in January 2017. Montgomery signed a two-year contract with Forest Green Rovers in May 2018. He made his professional debut on 14 August 2018, in the EFL Cup. Gethin Wynne Jones (born 13 October 1995) is an Australian-born Welsh professional footballer who plays as a right back for League One club Bolton Wanderers. Club career Everton Jones was born in Perth, Australia, and joined Everton's academy at the age of 12, signing from Wrexham's academy. His position switched from central midfield to right-back. While progressing through the ranks, Jones won Goal of the Season at the end of the 2011–12 season. He helped Everton win the Under-18 Premier League and in May 2014, then signed a one-year professional contract. He made his professional debut for the club on 11 December 2014, replacing Tyias Browning in the final minute of a UEFA Europa League match against FC Krasnodar. FA Trophy
The Football Association Challenge Trophy, commonly known as the FA Trophy, is a men's football knockout cup competition run by and named after the English Football Association and competed for primarily by semi-professional teams. The competition was instigated in 1969 to cater to those non-league clubs that paid their players and were therefore not eligible to enter the FA Amateur Cup. Eligibility rules have changed over time, but from 2008 onwards the competition has been open to clubs playing in Steps 1–4 of the National League System, equivalent to tiers 5–8 of the overall English football league system. The Football Association Challenge Cup, more commonly known as the FA Cup, is an annual knockout football competition in men's domestic English football. First played during the 1871–72 season, it is the oldest national football competition in the world. It is organised by and named after The Football Association (The FA). The 2023 FA Trophy final was an association football match played at Wembley Stadium, London, on 21 May 2023. It was contested between FC Halifax Town and Gateshead.
