James Merriman (soccer Coach)
James Merriman is a Canadian soccer coach who is currently the head coach of Pacific FC in the Canadian Premier League. Playing career Merriman played NCAA Division I soccer with the University of Denver Pioneers. His senior career included stints with Colorado Rapids Reserves, Victoria Highlanders FC, and Colorado Lightning. Coaching career Early career Merriman served as assistant coach of Vancouver Island University from 2009 to 2011 and at Simon Fraser University from 2012 to 2013. He also coached in various roles with the Whitecaps FC Academy. Pacific FC James Merriman was hired as an assistant coach under Michael Silberbauer for the inaugural season of Pacific FC and the Canadian Premier League. That 2019 season was disappointing for Pacific, and Silberbauer was fired before Pacific's final game of the year. Nanaimo ( ) is a city on the east coast of Vancouver Island, in British Columbia, Canada. 2020 Pacific FC Season
The 2020 Pacific FC season was the second in the club's history, as well as second in the Canadian Premier League. In 2019, Pacific finished 5th overall, failing to qualify for the CPL Finals. North Texas Soccer Club is a professional soccer club playing in the MLS Next Pro, a third division league of American soccer. The team is owned by, and operates as the reserve team of the Major League Soccer club FC Dallas. 2021 Canadian Championship
The 2021 Canadian Championship was the fourteenth edition of the Canadian Championship, contested from August 15 to November 21, 2021. The winners of the tournament, CF Montréal, were awarded the Voyageurs Cup and earned a berth in the 2022 CONCACAF Champions League. Format The competition follows a similar format to the originally proposed 2020 edition with four rounds and regional pairings in the first two rounds. For the first time in the Canadian Championship, each tie will be played as a single-leg fixture.
