James McMurdo
James Hunter McMurdo (1836–1904) was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly. Biography McMurdo was born on September 1, 1836, in Pennfield Parish, New Brunswick. During the American Civil War, he served with the 44th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry Regiment of the Union Army and would take part in the Battle of Nashville. He achieved the rank of corporal. Wisconsin State Assembly
The Wisconsin State Assembly is the lower house of the Wisconsin Legislature. Together with the smaller Wisconsin Senate, the two constitute the legislative branch of the U.S. state of Wisconsin. Representatives are elected for two-year terms, elected during the fall elections. If a vacancy occurs in an Assembly seat between elections, it may be filled only by a special election. The Wisconsin Constitution limits the size of the State Assembly to between 54 and 100 members inclusive. Since 1973, the state has been divided into 99 Assembly districts apportioned amongst the state based on population as determined by the decennial census, for a total of 99 representatives. Pennfield is a civil parish in Charlotte County, New Brunswick, Canada, located west of Saint John located east of St. George and west of Saint John. Prior to the 2023 governance reform, it comprised one village and two local service districts, all of which were members of the Southwest New Brunswick Service Commission (SNBSC). The Census subdivision of the same name includes all of the parish except the village of Blacks Harbour.
