James Malcolm (rugby Union)
James Malcolm (born 23 September 1994 in Glasgow, Scotland) is a Scottish rugby union player who plays for the Seattle Seawolves of Major League Rugby (MLR). He previously played for the Glasgow Warriors at the hooker or prop positions. Rugby Union career Amateur career Malcolm is a product of Glasgow Hutchesons' Aloysians RFC (GHA) and Hutchesons' Grammar School. He played 1st XV rugby for GHA during season 2012/13 and 2014/15. Malcolm joined Ayr Rugby Club at the start of the 2013–14 season. He is also part of the University of Strathclyde's Elite Athlete programme, which enables gifted sportsmen and women to balance training and competition with their academic courses, where he studies Mechanical Engineering. The 2018 Six Nations Championship (known as the Natwest 6 Nations for sponsorship reasons) was the 19th Six Nations Championship, the annual international rugby union tournament for the six major European rugby union nations. The championship was contested by France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland, Wales and defending champions England. Including the competition's previous iterations as the Home Nations Championship and Five Nations Championship, it was the 124th edition of the tournament. The Super 6 is a professional league for Scottish rugby union clubs, which began in 2019. As of 2022, the league consists of three competitions; * FOSROC Super6 Sprint Season - running from April to June, involving a single round robin, followed by two further matches to decide final positions; * FOSROC Super 6 Pro-Alignment Match - a one-off representative game between the best players from the 'Edinburgh' affiliated clubs and 'Glasgow' affiliated clubs, similar in some ways to State of Origin; * FOSROC Super6 Championship, the primary competition of the three, involving a full double round robin, and a series of play-offs. Ayr Rugby Football Club is a rugby union club. Its professional men's side currently plays as Ayrshire Bulls in the Super 6 competition; and its women's side play in the . Cardiff Rugby ( cy, Rygbi Caerdydd) are one of the four professional Welsh rugby union teams. They compete in the United Rugby Championship and in European Professional Club Rugby competitions. The United Rugby Championship (URC) is an annual rugby union competition involving professional teams from Ireland, Italy, Scotland, South Africa, and Wales. The current name was adopted in 2021 when the league expanded to include four South African teams previously from the SANZAR Super Rugby competition. The league is one of the three major professional leagues in Europe (along with the English Premiership and the French Top 14), the most successful teams from which go forward to compete in the European Rugby Champions Cup.
