James Stuart MacDonald (28 March 187812 November 1952) was an Australian artist, art critic and Director of the National Art Gallery of New South Wales from 1929 to 1937. Early life MacDonald was born on 28 March 1878 in Carlton, Melbourne, the son of solicitor Hector MacDonald and his American wife Anna Louisa, née Flett. He attended Kew High School and Hawthorn Grammar School, but proved unsuccessful in his studies. Kilby MacDonald
James Allan Kilby Macdonald (September 6, 1913 – May 11, 1986) was a Canadians, Canadian professional ice hockey Winger (ice hockey), left winger who played four seasons in the National Hockey League for the New York Rangers. Playing career MacDonald started his hockey career with the Ottawa Jr. Montagnards of the OCJHL IN 1930-31. In 1934-35, he moved to the GBHL and played with the Kirkland Lake Blue Devils. 1936 Allan Cup, The next season, MacDonald played with the Noranda Copper Kings and he helped the team make it to the Allan Cup. MacDonald spent the next three years with the New York Rovers in the Eastern Amateur Hockey League and the Philadelphia Ramblers of the International-American Hockey League. Regis Deon Thomas (born June 16, 1970) is an American convicted murderer and Bloods gang member who was sentenced to death for the 1993 murders of Kevin Michael Burrell and James Wayne MacDonald, two officers in the Compton Police Department who were shot dead during a traffic stop in the City of Compton. They were the only Compton police officers killed in the line of duty in the department's 65-year history. Thomas was also convicted of murdering another man in 1992 in Torrance, California. James MacDonald (born October 4, 1960) is a Canadian-born evangelical Christian pastor, television evangelist, and author. He was the senior pastor of Harvest Bible Chapel megachurch in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, United States and was the host for the church's former broadcast ministry, ''Walk in the Word''. MacDonald was fired from Harvest Bible Chapel in 2019 after over 30 years as senior pastor following allegations that he had engaged in conduct "harmful to the best interests of the church." James Ross Macdonald (born February 27, 1923) is an American physicist, who was instrumental in building up the Central Research laboratories of Texas Instruments (TI). Biography He received a B.A. in physics from Williams College and an S.B. and SM in E.E. from MIT in 1944 and 1947. Oxford awarded him a D.Phil. in 1950 and a D.Sc. degree in 1967. He joined Texas Instruments in 1953, where he served as Director of the Physics Research laboratory; Director of the Central Research laboratories; Vice President, Corporate Research and Engineering; and as Vice President, Corporate Research and Development. While at TI, Macdonald published over 175 scientific and engineering papers. James David Macdonald FLS FZS FIB (3 October 1908 – 17 September 2002) was a Scottish-Australian ornithologist and ornithological writer. A traditional museum ornithologist, he did much to build up the collections of African and Australian birds held by the British Museum, as well as popularising ornithology through his writings. James Alexander Macdonald FRSE FIB BSE (17 June 1908 – 26 April 1997) was a 20th-century Scottish botanist and plant pathologist. Friends and family called him Jay Macdonald. Life He was born in Dingwall on 17 June 1908, one of five children, to Eliza Kelman and James Alexander Macdonald FRSE (1867–1937), HM Chief Inspector of Schools for the Scottish Highlands and a former rector of Leith Academy. He was home educated by his mother at Kilmacolm then at Inverness Royal Academy. He then went to the University of Edinburgh to study agriculture but then decided to also study botany as a joint degree. He continued as a postgraduate in botany, gaining his doctorate (PhD) in 1935. On gaining his doctorate he began lecturing in botany at St Andrews University and was given his professorship in 1961.
