James King, 1st Lord Eythin
James King, 1st Lord Eythin (1589–1652) was a Scotland, Scottish soldier, who served in the Sweden, Swedish army, and who later supported Charles I of England, King Charles I in the Bishops' Wars, and then later in the English Civil War. Biography James King was born on Warbester Hoy, in the Orkney Islands. He was recruited into the Swedish Army in 1615, and in 1622 he was a captain in Patrick Ruthven, 1st Earl of Brentford, Ruthven's regiment. By 1634 King had gained some prominence and commanded three of the regiments at the siege of Hildersheim. For this action he was promoted Major General. By 1636, he was a Lieutenant General and commanded the left wing of the Swedish Army at the Battle of Wittstock as part of Alexander Leslie's Army of the Weser. His report of the battle, and his role within it lay undetected until recently, but has now been published. James King (born May 9, 1949) is an American hurdler. In 1975 he won the Pan American Games in the 400 Hurdles. He was a top level performer for many years also competing in the United States Olympic Trials (track and field), United States Olympic Trials in 1972, 1976, 1980, and 1984. He was ranked in the Top 10 United States 400 meter hurdlers for ten consecutive years most of it during the Edwin Moses and Andre Phillips era. He held the official World Masters Athletics Masters Athletics World Records, World Record in the 400 hurdles for Men 40+ for over 20 years, until it was surpassed in 2012 by Danny McFarlane. Jim King was an American football coach and player. He served as the head football coach at Livingston University (now the University of West Alabama) between 1973 and 1976. Career King was a member of the Southern Miss Golden Eagles football team from 1963 through 1964 where he played the lineman position. Following his graduation, he served as an offensive line coach at Livingston from 1970 through to 1972. James Hubert King (August 27, 1932 – February 23, 2015) was an American professional baseball outfielder. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for 11 seasons between 1955 and 1967, mostly with the Washington Senators. He also was a member of the Chicago Cubs, St. Louis Cardinals, San Francisco Giants, Chicago White Sox and Cleveland Indians. He batted left-handed, threw right-handed, and was listed as tall and .
