James Fitzpatrick (hurler)
James "Cha" Fitzpatrick (born 31 January 1985) is an Irish hurler who played as a midfielder for the Kilkenny senior team. Born in Knockmoylan, County Kilkenny, Fitzpatrick first played competitive hurling during his schooling at St. Kieran's College. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Kilkenny minor team, before later joining the under-21 side. He made his senior debut during the 2004 championship. Fitzpatrick later became a regular member of the starting fifteen, and won five All-Ireland medals, five Leinster medals and two National League medals on the field of play. The All-Ireland-winning captain in 2008, he was an All-Ireland runner-up on two occasions. At club level, Fitzpatrick is a three-time All-Ireland medallist with Ballyhale Shamrocks. James Paul Fitzpatrick (born 1975) is an Australian paediatrician notable for his advocacy of rural and indigenous health issues, particularly his work with fetal alcohol spectrum disorder. Biography Born in 1975, he grew up in the New South Wales city of Bathurst and attended high school at St Stanislaus' College, from which he graduated in 1991. He studied for a degree in rural cience at the University of New England for a year before leaving to spend a year full-time in the army. He then returned to university, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in 1997, before completing a medical degree at the University of Western Australia School of Medicine. While at the University of Western Australia, he joined the state student rural health club SPINRPHEX, campaigning for it to focus on community activities, and organised a children's festival in Carnarvon to bring Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal children together. James J. Fitzpatrick Stadium is a 6,000 seat multi-purpose outdoor stadium in Portland, Maine, United States. It is located between Interstate 295, Hadlock Field baseball stadium, King Middle School, and the Portland Exposition Building. It is located across the street from Deering Oaks. Formerly known as Portland Stadium, it was renamed in 1989 to honor James J. Fitzpatrick, one of the most respected figures in Maine athletic history. Renovations In 2001, the stadium underwent a $1.4 million renovation project that included replacing the grass with FieldTurf, a new rubberized track and rest rooms. In November 2010, a $950,000 renovation project began to replace the bleachers. Modeled after Memorial Stadium at Deering High School, the bleachers hold 3,800 seats on the home side and 2,500 seats on the away side and have a dark blue backing in honor of Portland High School's colors. Sir James Percy FitzPatrick, (24 July 1862 – 24 January 1931), known as Percy FitzPatrick, was a South African author, politician, mining financier and pioneer of the fruit industry. He authored the classic children's book, ''Jock of the Bushveld'' (1907). As a politician, he defended British Imperial interests before and during the Anglo-Boer War. FitzPatrick is responsible for the creation of the two-minute silence observed on Armistice Day. James Fitzpatrick (1748 – September 26, 1778), also known as Sandy Flash, was an American highwayman who operated in Chester and Delaware counties west of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, during the American Revolutionary War. A Continental Army deserter, Fitzpatrick defected to the Loyalist side and entered folklore as a swashbuckling Robin Hood figure. He was popularized as a character named Sandy Flash in Bayard Taylor’s novel ''The Story of Kennett'', published in 1866.
