James Dubro
James "Jim" Dubro (born July 12, 1946) is a crime writer of many books, articles and investigative television shows. Early life Born in 1946 in Boston, Dubro earned an undergraduate degree (Phi Beta Kappa) from Boston University. He received his master's degree from Columbia University, and did graduate work at Harvard University. Barbara Budd
Barbara Budd (born May 23, 1951) is a Canadian actress, narrator and radio announcer. Between 1993 and April 30, 2010, she was the co-host of CBC Radio One's ''As It Happens''. Early life Budd was born in St. Catharines, Ontario. She studied theatre performance at York University and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1974. Career Budd worked for five seasons as a company member at Canada's Stratford Festival under Robin Phillips (1975-1980), most notably playing Cathleen in a 1977 production of '' Long Day's Journey into Night'' and Emilia in a 1979 production of ''Othello''. Bruno Santos Gerussi (7 May 1928 – 21 November 1995) was a Canadian stage and television actor, best known for the lead role in the CBC Television series ''The Beachcombers''. He also performed onstage at the Stratford Festival, worked in radio, and hosted CBC's daily television cooking show ''Celebrity Cooks'' in the late 1970s. Early life and education Gerussi was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta, as the eldest son of Enrico Gerussi, a coal miner working in Lethbridge, who had trained in Italy as a stonemason, and his wife Teresina Lazzorotto. The two married in 1927 and moved to Medicine Hat. The family subsequently moved to Exshaw, where Enrico worked as a sectionman on the Canadian Pacific Railway. ''Morningside'' was a nationally broadcast Canadian radio program, which aired on CBC Radio from September 20, 1976 to May 30, 1997. It was broadcast from 9 a.m. to noon, Monday to Friday. The series replaced a series of short-lived morning radio programs that aired in this slot after ''This Country in the Morning'' ended in 1974. The show was created by Krista Mäeots who served as its executive producer until her death in 1978. She had formerly been a producer with ''This Country in the Morning''. The show debuted with Harry Brown and Maxine Crook as co-hosts. In September 1977, Don Harron became host of the show. Robin Rowland (author)
Robin Rowland, a Canadian author, journalist and photographer, grew up in Kitimat, British Columbia. His family then moved to Toronto, where he attended York University and later Carleton University. He began as a reporter for the Sudbury Star and later worked for CBC News. While living in London he worked for as a Videotex producer before returning to Canada and rejoining CBC New's teletext experiment Project Iris. He also wrote a number of radio plays for CBC Radio Drama as well as short stories and science fiction. In the mid-1980s he began collaborating with James Dubro writing about organized crime in Canada. After six years with CTV News, in 1994, as he returned to CBC News. Rowland also co-wrote the pioneering manual Researching on the Internet with Dave Kinnaman. In 1998, he became the producer of online content for CBC News: The National.
