James Bingham (artist)
James Bingham (23 January 1925 – 8 December 2009) was a Belfast-based painter. He spent thirty years in London working as a signwriter with his brother. In 1967 he returned to Belfast where he met fellow Belfast artist Daniel O'Neill. They became friends and from 1968 he worked with O'Neill in his studio until O'Neill's death in 1974. James Bingham (March 16, 1861 – August 19, 1940) was an United States of America, American lawyer and politician who served as the nineteenth Indiana Attorney General from January 1, 1907, to January 1, 1911. Biography Early life and education Bingham was born in Fountain County, Indiana, Fountain County, Indiana. His father was Alexander Bingham, a farmer. Growing up, Bingham worked on the family farm and on the railroad. After his time at the local district schools, Bingham attended Valparaiso, Indiana, Valparaiso Normal school, Normal School for six months before becoming a schoolteacher at age fifteen. At age twenty-one, after six years of teaching, Bingham was elected superintendent (education), superintendent of Fountain County schools. As superintendent, he held one of Indiana's first grade school graduations and organized a course of study for the county's common schools (he would later serve on a committee that prepared a statewide course of study for all Indiana gra ...
