James Berry (footballer)
James Jon Berry-McNally (born 10 December 2000) is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward or striker for Chesterfield. Career Born in Wigan, Berry signed scholarship forms with his hometown club Wigan Athletic in December 2016 after being released by Liverpool. In November 2017, he was an unused substitute in a 4–0 defeat against Accrington Stanley in the EFL Trophy, but made no first team appearances for the club. In November 2019, Berry joined Hull City after the club agreed a compensation deal with Wigan. On 11 February 2020, he made his senior debut as a substitute in a 3–0 defeat against Blackburn Rovers. After his release from Hull, he joined Macclesfield on loan after signing for Altrincham. He signed a two-year contract to make his move to Macclesfield permanent in March 2022, becoming the club's record signing. Wigan
Wigan ( ) is a large town in Greater Manchester, England, on the River Douglas, Lancashire, River Douglas. The town is midway between the two cities of Manchester, to the south-east, and Liverpool, to the south-west. Bolton lies to the north-east and Warrington to the south. 2022–23 Northern Premier League
The 2022–23 season is the 55th season of the Northern Premier League. The league consists of four divisions, the Premier Division at Step 3 of the National League System, and the West, East and Midlands divisions at Step 4. The NPL continued this season with main sponsors Entain's Pitching In. The allocations for Step 4 this season were announced by The Football Association (FA) on 12 May 2022. North West Counties Football League Premier Division
The North West Counties Football League is a association football, football league in the North West England, North West of England. Since 2019–20, the league has covered the Isle of Man, Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside, Cumbria, northern Staffordshire, northern Shropshire, the far west of West Yorkshire, and the High Peak, Derbyshire, High Peak area of Derbyshire. In the past, the league has also hosted clubs from North Wales such as Caernarfon Town F.C., Caernarfon Town, Colwyn Bay F.C., Colwyn Bay and Rhyl F.C., Rhyl. 2021–22 North West Counties Football League
The 2021–22 North West Counties Football League season was the 40th in the history of the North West Counties Football League, a football competition in England, and the fourth season following the split of the lower level into two geographically separated divisions. Teams are divided into three divisions: Premier Division, at Step 5, and Divisions One North and South, at Step 6. The allocations for Steps 5 and 6 this season were announced by The Football Association on 18 May 2021, and were subject to appeal. On 8 April, it was announced at the league's Management Committee meeting that the season would start no earlier than Saturday 31 July. The league constitution was adopted on 12 June. The National League (named Vanarama National League for sponsorship reasons) is an association football league in England consisting of three divisions, the National League, National League North, and National League South. It was called the "Alliance Premier League" from 1979 until 1986. Between 1986 and 2015, the league was known as the "Football Conference"." 2021–22 National League
The 2021–22 National League season, known as the Vanarama National League for sponsorship reasons, was the seventh season as English football's National League, the nineteenth season consisting of three divisions, and the forty-third season overall. Due to the curtailment of the preceding season for North and South and lower levels of competition in the English football pyramid, promotion and relegation between levels 5 and 6, and between level 6 and lower levels were suspended. These, combined with the folding of Macclesfield Town in 2020–21 and the knock-on effects of Bury's collapse in 2019–20, meant that for the 2021–22 season the three divisions had the irregular complement of 23, 22 and 21 teams, respectively.
